So cute! Yours has similar coloring to our 8 month old beagle.

Have fun, she will grow fast!

I realize that and my point is the number should be higher. Just too young Imo but some breeders don't care. Many states are 8 weeks minimum

Yeah...I wouldn't want to get them any younger. She did fine, not much separation anxiety. Not sure about other states. I didn't know that was regulated.

You are implying a puppy can only be sold by a certain age per state law?

I'd like to see said law.

Not all states have them (TN doesn't) but they should. Here's the section from Florida
(4) A person may not transport into the state for sale or offer for sale within the state any dog or cat that is less than 8 weeks of age.

My dad breeds and sells his all over the country. He would not release one at 6wks. He just finished selling off a litter last week but they are still with their mother for a couple more weeks

I got her in ozark alabama for 300.00. She's a ukc registered purebred. She's great. My kids went nuts when I told them we were going to get a smokey dog. This puppy is nose to the ground for sure. The breeders have two females and one male left and they are perfect.

I can't afford one now, but I'll need to keep this breeder in mind for sure...

Wow! She does look like a blue tick in the face. I love the brown eyebrows

Everyone that stops us thinks he is a blue tick hound or some kind of mix, but he is full beagle. When we were first looking at beagles, we were looking at the traditional tri-color and then also lemon (golden yellow and white). Once I saw a blue tick beagle, I knew I had to have one! His dad was traditional tri and his mom was blue tick. Litter had 3 and 3.

I've seen a lot of beagles in my day, and I have never seen one like that.

I've got buddies that run beagles. I plan on showing them the picture.

What breed does your dad sell?

Interesting on the law in Florida. Can't say I'm surprised though.

He sells Brittanys and ships them everywhere (they have amazing bloodlines) . I would say the majority of states have similar laws in place. It is a protection for the buyer from breeders who may not know or care and the well-being of the pups. No doubt there are pups who will do just fine at earlier ages but I think it's better to wait a few extra weeks

Smokey Mountain Blue. We call her blue. 6 weeks old.View attachment 91079

Beautiful Pup!

I wish that I had some pictures of when mine was younger puppy. I got her when she was supposedly 8 months old.

I am glad that I found this thread with fellow bluetick owners. I love mine but she has been a bit of handful... I know blueticks can be but she has been a little over the top.

Anyone deal with separation anxiety and/or just general anxiety in their blueticks?

Anything in particular work for your bluetick?
