Larry Kenon, Larry Finch, Keith Lee, Andre Turner, Vincent Askew, Elliott Perry, Penny Hardaway, and Lorezen Wright respectfully say you don't have the first clue what you're talking about.

William Bedford (who is in prison) as well.

edit: I guess i could have read the post above mine before posting...

I love the Elliott Perry reference. That guy was really really good. Memphis has definitely had some great players and some great teams. But I do think that the Calipari brand name is greater than the Memphis brand name. If coaches were rated by Value Over Replacement Coach, Calipari's rating at Memphis would have been off the charts.

This isn't to say that the Memphis brand name is non-existent...just that it took a big hit with Calipari's departure.

Agree 100%....The Tigers had plenty of history before Coach Cal landed in Memphis....

Yes William Wesley will be hanging out in Kentucky, but if Calipari was paying him off then it is Calipari that will get canned. Also Memphis will lose their national runner-up last year, two elite 8s the two years before, and the over 130 wins in the last 4 years. Memphis will get in trouble for this since all the players went there through Wesley. Wagner, Rose, and Evans, they are products of the scam between Wesley and Calipari, and it will eventually catch up to them, always does....
Yeah, his relationship with Sam Gilbert really caught up with John Wooden.

How many national championships do they have? It's all about the hardware, right?

You get a really, really nice piece of hardware for winning a regional. Of course, as a Tennessee fan, I learned that by looking in other people's trophy cases.

So, Cal said WWW won't recruit for KY. Well, he also said that guy didn't recruit for UM. So, we'll see.

Memphis has always been a great city for basketball. However you do have to realize that they were not the team they are now right before Coach Cal came to the head coaching position. They hit a lull before his arrival. He turned them into a National Powerhouse.

ya, i doubt this statement. WorldWide Wes will still send players his way, though he probably won't have to influence the kids as much to do it since Kentucky has a great program and good history unlike Memphis used to be which was a history of losing

Out of all your normally somewhat insightful posts, this has to be the most imbecillic thing you have ever posted...

You really think the NCAA would ever dream of going after Wooden??? Honestly?

Wooden could admit on live national TV that he was involved in shady recruiting and the NCAA would find a way to overlook it.
