Rex, trust me. Zach is plenty fast.
As to football, the kid can play. He would make an excellent FS or even SS. He can tackle and he also is a ball hawk.
He might get only 3*s but he is definately a 4* player.

not saying that he's not athletic, but Im will to wager that the 100m champ in Tennessee is far slower than the 100m champ in California, Texas, Flordia, Ohio, etc. Also you say "the best in the state", but isnt that the best in single A and double A?

Competing in the Class A/AA division, Rogers won both the 100 and 200 meters at Spring Fling last Friday. His times — 10.80 seconds in the 100, 21.48 in the 200 — were tops in all classifications.

They said in the Cal-UT game last year that the freshman running back Jahvid Best ran a 10.4 100 meter. I think he won the state championship with that time also.

Demps for Florida ran the 4th fastest 100m this year in the world. He is a senior right now will be a freshman.

If someone were to investigate and check the 40 times of every player on every team in college football, I wonder who would be the fastest team? Florida would have to be near the top I would think......

Demps will most definately be the fastest player in CFB next year with speed like that.

Going back to 02 the fastest player we have is Eric Berry listed at 4.33.

Jeff Demps clocked a 4.46 40 so that should tell you how 40 times are off. Florida has 4 players clocked at 4.3 or faster and that doesnt include Demps or Rainey(who some say was the fastest in last years class.)

USC nor UGA has anyone listed below 4.4 and if you scan it UT has as many if not more kids than UF UGA or USC that clocked a 4.4 or better. Given Berry was the only one listed at below 4.40.

UGA had one really fast class but after that 04 class it hasnt been spectacular. UT has alot of 4.4 guys and may not be as fast as UF, it may be easily in the top 3-5 in the country, if you go by Rivals times.

100M speed is completely different from 40 speed. I can beat my friend in the 40 anytime, but he spanks me in the 100M.

The first part is simply not true. I believe it was Sunday that a world championship meet was held. At least 8 guys ran is faster than that including the new world record holder at 9.71. THAT is fast.

Mile Split Network - Weekend Highlights: Demps (FL) Runs 10.17 100m in FL, Sveinsson (TX) Runs 4:44.70 for 1600m in TX

Jeffrey Demps (South Lake, FL) ran an amazing, wind-legal time of 10.17 for 100m, ranking him U.S. #5 all-time in the event. Demps' mark also ranks him #3 in the world currently, regardless of age, however, it is very early in the collegiate and professional seasons. (All time rankings courtesy of Jack Shepard)

Sorry I dont keep up with day to day track meets so if someone posted better since that article, my bad, maybe hes not that fast after all...... I would imagine none of those were 17 year old kids who are football players are they?
