Didn't someone on here say that we have the top TE committed and another top TE looking at us. Neither of those guys are on the Junior All America team. Neither is any of the other top talent we supposedly have. Where did you get your sources whoever said this before?

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Rivals.com Junior All-America Team

Douglas is a top TE
Johnson is a top LB had over 200 tackles as a Jr.
Poole is a top RB

Being a Junior AA means very little come next season

also what I remember being said was he could be the top TE next year but would definately be a top TE

Jacques McLendon was a Rivals JR AA a couple years ago and didn't even finish in their top 100. It doesn't mean anything.

we are looking pretty good for 08 already, so we've got that going for us, which is nice

Why all the fuss over a player that plays a position that is pretty much non-existant in our offense.

because he's going to be an OT. Fwiw, he destroyed Sykes as a Jr. Douglas' Jr. year
I was at the Maryville vs. Central game this past season, and can't remember his name being called that much, but at the same time I was really listening for it. I walked past him going into a game at UT this year and he is a big boy.

His receiving stats aren't great but he has a great frame and is apparently a very good blocker. He blleds orange as well. check out his amp videos on rivals

i would expect that to change this coming season.....Cottam will be a bigger part of our offense and the biggest part of the offesne as a TE since Witten.

He tends to make more after the catch. In '04 he had the long TD and this year he had more yards after the catch than Brown did. Not trying to pick a fight, he seems like a harder worker than Brown.

How do you know how hard they work? Brown has been contributing since 2004. Cottam had a decent second half of the season. To say Cottam is better at this point is overkill. He may prove himself, but he hasn't yet.

Cottam had injuries early in his career.

I would like to see both Cottam's in the game at the same time. talk about BIG targets

Chris Brown tiptoes out of bounds and drops alot of passes. Cottam hasn't done that yet, maybe because he has not had as much playing time as Brown. I know both of them personally and going on how they are perceived by their teammates, the consensus is that Cottam is a harder worker. Plus, that is my opinion. We are allowed to post our opinions correct?

Cottam has not had the off the field trouble that Brown has either.

Anyways it is a stupid arguement. Neither will see as many touches this year anyway, because we have FB now eliminating the need for two tightend sets and Cutcliffe spreads it around. They are both good players and I think that they will cancel each other out because they will share playing time.

If you're looking at the pre eval. from rivals than you are looking at an alphabetical order list.
