Next years class?

Chris Brown tiptoes out of bounds and drops alot of passes. Cottam hasn't done that yet, maybe because he has not had as much playing time as Brown. I know both of them personally and going on how they are perceived by their teammates, the consensus is that Cottam is a harder worker. Plus, that is my opinion. We are allowed to post our opinions correct?

Cottam has not had the off the field trouble that Brown has either.

Anyways it is a stupid arguement. Neither will see as many touches this year anyway, because we have FB now eliminating the need for two tightend sets and Cutcliffe spreads it around. They are both good players and I think that they will cancel each other out because they will share playing time.

we wont be getting rid of the tight ends...we'll most likely use them even more given cottam's progression. we had fb's last year...however they proved they were incompetent in virtually every aspect, especially blocking, and were pretty much eliminated from the offense. i dont think holbert will improve enough to change cut's mind and that prob goes for the freshman too. look for the most use out of those tight ends since witten

another guy to keep an eye on is DC Jefferson outta florida. big jamarcus russell type qb who has decent speed as well as a big arm. we've offered him and he came to a practice at the outback bowl so he pretty interested

was supposed to be by far the best (of the Cottams)? Everyone seems to be talking like he is merely an afterthought.

He was a redshirt freshman last year. We should use him alot more. Brown may be used primarily as the H back with the Cottams and Stocker as the tight ends next year.

youngest cottam was scout team last year. I liked what i saw from brad cottam this past year and so did the coaches. why is everyone so down on him?

Jeff played in mop up duty last year, not scout team. He was behind Brown and Brad and we didn't use TEs enough for him to play significantly. He should be good when he gets a chance.

It just means they haven't lettered yet I believe. HS means that it is their first year on the team out of HS.

I saw Tom Lemming interviewing him on CSTV. He said " I have a few offers but I'm probably going to Tennessee."

next year the schollie numbers will be small 12 to 15 range. I would look for 3 OL and 3 DL, 1 QB, 1 or 2 DB

then you have

Stephaun Raines
Duck Lindsey
Gerald Williams

plus

the 4 already committed

I say that we should do what Southern Cal did this year. Only get like 18-20 commitments but they are all 5 stars or high 4 stars. :dance2:

Cottam dropped several passes early in 2006, which is why he didn't get any passes for awhile. As for Brown's troubles, I believe that was over 2 years ago.

RB Jonas Gray - 5'9", 206
RB Josh Haden - 5'7", 190
LB Shayne Hale - 6'3", 218
ATH Chris Jordan - 6'2", 201 (Brentwood)
DT Stacey McGee - 6'5", 280
DE Robert Quinn - 6'5", 245

Some of the players don't have any schools listed, and these lists will obv. change drastically over the next year.
