This.

I think if we get Richardson and he's as good as he's supposed to be Thomas may get pushed out.... I would be happy with James at LT and Richardson at RT...I also think Pair could be a dark horse to get some serious PT if he adds some weight

You and I think alike. I think James is gonna end up LT and Pair at RT.

Don't be too hard on Gooch (jokes forth coming) but he is just a sophomore this year and spent last season in JUCO ball. You got to remember he signed after NSD and was expected to be in JUCO ball another season. I want to see how he will do after a full season in the system and such. Your right though we can not start a true freshman center next year.

Thomas is arguably our best OL.

Yea I think he may be able too... I mean it would be difficult to push out Thomas because of all the playin time he's gettin this year.... I just thought that if he was supposed to be as good as James was last year he could make his way into the line up cuz I dont think anybody besides James has secured a spot for next year... IMO

Uh, HUHHH???? Have to RESPECTFULLY disagree. Juwan James is our best o-lineman IMO. And that's scary for the enemy in the future. Just look at blown assignments. #71 and #74 have mastered getting the QB killed. James has missed FAR FAR less assignments as a true frosh.

IMO:

1.) Schofield
2.) Thomas
3.) James

I do like Schofield, dude is wooly mammoth big. I think he and James are it. Thomas is alright, I just think it will only get so good for him. Meaning he's limited on talent IMO. It's taken him a redshirt yr, last season, and half this season to be inferior to guys just out of HS. Again, JMO.

If Dooley makes a change at OC then I will lose all confidence in him whatsoever. And I'm all for Dooley right now.

Getting rid of Chaney would be the dumbest thing he could possibly do.
I don't think Dooley would get rid of Chaney; I think consistency at least in the OC, DC, and HC are important if we want to get things back on track. I just don't know that Chaney will stick around here if a better opportunity opens up. Last year his options were limited by the timing of Lane jumping ship.

Why is Antonio Richardson in the discussion? I mean, yeah he's from Tennessee, but it seems like he loves Bama. Not trying to be rude, justa sayin'.

Because he has a great relationship with Chaney and his dad loves UT and the staff. Also trains with Buck who will definitely mention a thing or two about UT. Gabe Wright stated last week that after spending the day together at a game that by the way he was talking it sounded like he's really feeling UT. We have a good shot here.

Unless I am missing something, the pass protection breakdowns are not coming from the left side. I believe the most consistent run blocking has been over Thomas also. He and Schofield are a great tandem. I think Schofield's injury is the worst thing that has happened to UT this season. Without him, Thomas is out there by himself with guys too young to know what they are doing or guys lacking the talent to actually do it.

^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^

Chaney has been a lifesaver as OC this year -- I have been very impressed with his schemes and calls. He has come up with mismatches in our favor in every game, we just do not have the experience/personnel to pull it off. Our young receivers either run the wrong routes, our QB gets sacked before he can throw, or the receiver drops the ball.

If you notice, as our QB and some of our receivers have matured a bit, we are starting to make some good plays. It would help if he had some experienced talent to work with, such as on the O-line -- they have the ability but not enough experience.

Our offense has a lot of problems, but Chaney is not one of them.
