Next years roster: Offense

Assuming all of seniors leave and do not take their Covid year, who do we have coming in that can truly help this team offensively? I don’t give a flip about defense - you have to score to win tournament basketball.

Freddie, DJ Jefferson, Carr, JP, and Cade Phillips?

Are any a legit post scorer? Three point shooter? A guard that can take it to the rim? Can any be a point guard?

How many scholarships do we still have if everyone leaves?

I think that there are 2 available spots if SV, JJJ, UP, and ORN all leave. Key can’t return. 3 spots if Phillips opts out.

Barnes offense requires a dominant inside presence until we have one I expect more of the same

Assuming Phillips returns, he's got to be a focal point with Dillione. I'd hope for more consistent play from Mashak as well. Wild card might be Estrella. Not a banger but he might be a source of offense down low that we've not had in a while. Then there's the portal which might have to be where we make our hay. You can get proven ability there and not have to rely on freshmen.

This is 💯 percent true Tn has Aidoo he has good size can move has some skills but he needs to put on muscle he gets thrown out position too easily
Awaka big body gives great effort improve offensive game.....I can't recall Barnes having post player that was a true center... frustrating GBO....

Aidoo is listed at 240. Not sure how much he can carry. Weren't his knees a problem his freshman year? Might not be wise to put on too much more. Just get him stronger perhaps?

We might lost guys to the portal too, but the rumor was out here that Santi's coming back so that would nail down the guard play, but we need another Grant Williams down low

I have a hard time seeing him return. Although we might actually have enough threats with dillione, estrella and Phillips that teams can't overplay him next year.

I doubt any Sr return. We need another C/BF and PG in transfer portal and hopefully experienced guys who can start. Scoring PG is preferred especially with ZZ status. Our defense won’t be as good next year with the youngsters so we need to run a more efficient offense or push tempo. You look at the roster and see we are going to rely on all the frosh getting minutes. I wouldn’t redshirt anyone. I expect our rebounding will improve simply because Awaka gets more minutes. He is a monster on the glass.

There is going to be alot of turnover on most SEC teams heading into next year. The UT roster as I see it.

It will be very interesting to see what kind of developmental progress Edwards makes over this summer because Seigler probably will not be fully healthy in time for the start of the 2023-2024 season.

We need to find a legit scorer--or two--in the portal, no matter the position---but of course they're not easy to find.

I kind of agree. But we only have 2 spots if no one transfers. Hoping dillione Mashack and JP fill the combo role. Along with Carr and DJ…. And perhaps edwards…. Seems like we have a lot of 2/3 combo bodies on next year’s roster already.

ZZ should take a redshirt next year. No sense in sitting the whole season and playing at the end. We will need PG help

We need a transfer PG and an elite scoring 4. When Barnes teams are good at those spots his offense is ok, if those spots arent good it sucks.

I believe ZZ will return with a vengeance, but we're going to need a scoring option or two that we don't now have.
Surely, there's a candidate or three in the portal who could shore up our deficient offense.

Freddie Dillione is a walking bucket. If he doesn’t pan out offensively then it will be another chink in Barne’s offensive armor
