Next Year's Roster

Young is a tackle, Ligon is a guard. Most teams always plays their best tackle and guard on the left side to protect the QB blind side. Thats where UT has Sears and Ligon.

All that says is Sears is entrenched at left tackle already. Eric Young will be the starting left tackle next year. Most big time schools break in a player at right tackle and then move him over to left tackle when the previous player graduates.
So when Young graduates Scott or McClendon will move over. Sorry but Ligon is not as good at Young.

i agree wholeheartedly that Young is better than Ligon. The only thing Ligon is good for is stupid, drive-killing penalties.

I agree with all the Foster comments.

After the arrest last weekend, he is mostly likely in Fulmer's doghouse anyways.

I expect to see a lot more Coker and less Foster for the rest of the year.
Hmmm, there was someone on this board that caught all kinds of hell for saying everyone was way too excited about Foster. I believe he called Foster a "plowhorse." I wonder what happened to that brilliant and insightful prognosticator.

This is what I believe will be the starting lineup next year. This is based on players I think will graduate and players I think will come in next year as freshmen. I also think without a proven fullback, they'll go with a lot of 2 TE next year.

Here goes:

QB - Erik Ainge
RB - LeMarcus Coker
WR - Josh Briscoe or Lucas Taylor
WR - Brent Vinson
TE - Brad Cottam
TE - Jeff Cottam or Chris Brown
OT - Eric Young
OG - Jacques McCLendon or Ramon Foster
C - Josh McNeil
OG - Anthony Parker
OT - Chris Scott

I don't think the passblocking will be as good, but I expect them to be better at run blocking, especially if McClendon is in there.

DE - Xavier Mitchell
DT - Demonte' Bolden
DT - J.T. Mapu
DE - Antonio Reynolds
LB - Ryan Karl
LB - Jerod Mayo
LB - Rico McCoy
CB - Eric Berry
FS - Jon Hefney
SS - Demetrice Morley (hopefully much improved) or Antonio Wardlow
CB - Roshaun Fellows

I really think the defense could be a lot better. This relies of course on certain players (Bolden, Mapu, Morley) improving as they should.

Overall, I think the receivers take a step back, but with Ainge having another year under Cutcliffe, and (hopefully) an improved running game, the offense will be better.

Could the defense be any worse? I think they'll take a big step up.

You think he starts right away? Over Hancock and Rogers?

I like Rogers, and he's dependable from what I've seen, but I'm not sure how talented he is. Hancock was great in the scrimmages, but who knows how good he really is? It's just a guess though. Vinson has a load of talent. I think we'll be ok with any of them.

1. I really hope Roshaun Fellows could perform, we need this kind of person so bad.

2. You already count Eric Berry?

Again, this is just what I think is going to happen, but yes, I think we'll get him. And I think he's good enough to start immediately.

i agree with you exotic, but i think the other end opposite of Xavier will be Robert Ayers. I think we ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO go get either 1 or 2 JC DT's that can play right away, if nothing else to give us some depth-HOPEFULLY one of these guys will be an impact guy. Don't count out Fulmer's ability to 'go get what he needs' at the last minute. I look at it this way, if we're all sitting around talking about it, you know they are. We're not the ones getting paid to worry about next year.

I think we SHOULD have a good year next year.
