Next years team/lineup

Hubbs will absolutely start. He's exactly the kind of player we need on offense.

I thought he would especially over Richardson. I really don't see taking JR off the floor now. If for some reason McRae continues to come off the bench, then maybe CCM decides to do the same next year with him, which is unfortunate. He deserves to start.

Have any of you seen Hubbs play? The man can ball. He is better then any guard we have on the team

Hubbs will start over Jordy. Jordy loves the 6th man role, and he'll still play 25 a game. My guess:

PG- Golden 30/Landry or Moore 10 (let the best man win)
SG- Hubbs 25/McRae 15
SF- Richardson 25/McRae 10/Reese 5
PF- Maymon 25/Davis 10/Reese 5
C- Stokes 30/Yemi 10

The big questions though are at his defense at a level CCM will require, and is he physically ready. I don't think anyone questions his scoring ability.

I see no way Richardson's minutes digress. Also, unless Maymon just isn't 100% have to think he gets 30 minutes.

CCM ideally likes a 8 man rotation, we just haven't been able to do it really yet, next year may be the year.

Golden, Hubbs, McRae, Richardson, stokes, Maymon and Yemi all are guaramteed going to see good minutes IMO. That's 7 guys, I think Edwards, Reese and Davis all battle it out for minutes, and the PG situation will be one to watch. I could see McRae getting 10 minutes a game there next year possible if we don't bring in a JUCO.

This thread lost all its meaning with the bring back Bruce comment. At least with CM we don't have a liar.

I cant believe you guys are still supporting a coach that has implied (multiple times) that a true point guard is not important.
I'm also starting to wonder about this S&T coach. Injuries abound.
Compound that with Two botched surgeries. miller/Maymon. I'd say Maymon will be lucky to ever play again
Roster dont mean jack.

I think that was before everyone knew how lazy he was. He doesn't have that fire you need and from every thing I've heard of Hubbs, he has that.

Maybe, but maybe not. Saying Hubbs is a one and done lottery pick isn't something I'd bet on.

I saw him guard Joe Jackson all night his Sophmore year when JJ was a Senior( McDonald's AA). The result JJ only had 3 field goal and 11 points, THE WHOLE GAME. He is underrated as a defender.

He is not a one and done. Even he knows that. He has alot of physical maturing to do to get to that point. He is very young for his class. In fact I think He may actually be 17 when he gets to Knoxville. Not quite sure though.

CCM should've thrown him a jersey Friday night, we had nobody that could guard JJ.

i just do not see the Vols sneaking up on anyone this year .but hey with Maymon redshirting it helps the Vols wilth Looney.and to have Stokes,Maymon, and Hubbs,Mcrae.GOLDEN SHOULD BE A GOOD STARTING LINE UP.WITH YEMI, RICHARDSON ,REESE AND HOPEFULLY A GOOD PG FOR SECOND TEAM.THE TEam should be better on defense without mcbee who is a liability on defense and besides an occasional three is hapless on offense,to bad the facial hair didnt make him a better player .and if next year isnt a much better team and the Vols do not get a great recruiting classi will be worried.

If even the average fan easily points out McBees shortcomings, why is he still starting? It's pretty easy to see McBees best games are coming off the bench to drain some bombs for a team boost. Yet, for some reason, he's entrenched as a starter.

So, with this lineup (I truly don't see how you get that many good kids playing time with CCM's style), but is there any way we really aren't a preseason top 15 team?

No I'm not writing off this season, and no it's not another one of those next year is the year threads. However, with the news of Maymon returning next year, Jarnell appearing he'll return and Hubbs coming in, I'm very excited for next years team, this will be a long off season.

Here's my best guess, way too early, at a rotation...

PG: Golden 30/ Landry 10
SG: McRae 28/ Hubbs 12
SF: Richardson 30/ Hubbs 10
F: Maymon 30/ Stokes 10
F: Stokes 20/ Yemi 20

Reese, Davis and Edwards probably get a few minutes, and I'm thinking Q will have transferred. If we can find a JUCO PG, that'd be HUGE. (too bad we couldn't have brought back Chris Jones)

Question: Does this mean you're writing off this season?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Hubbs come off the bench when the season starts. But he is definitely starter material. However, he's no lottery pick - yet anyway.

Kinda my thought. CCM will want to see the defensive commitment from him in some games before he makes him a starter IMO. He'll still probably play starter minutes or close to it, but I think that'll be as the 6th man. More freedom for him as the 6th man as well.

Just got back from watching my son's team play Dyer County. Hubbs is as good as advertised. He is a shooter. He made 8 of 10 threes most of them from 25 feet or longer.
