Scotty coming out of what?...he can test the waters by seeing where he will be drafted. I think his best situation would be to come back to college and learn some ball skills. he will have far more trouble handling the ball in the NBA. He dribbles off his knee to much.(all alone)

Laugh all you want. Scotty has told plenty of people he plans to enter the draft after this year and is dead set on it from what I've heard. He would get drafted some time in the second round.

and would be cut. then he could start a long and wonderful career overseas in turkey or italy. him coming out would be a joke. tobias needs to stay also, he'd not ready either.

This^^^^^^^^^^The only place Scotty will be going to play ball is in the city of Knoxville next year.

If darko can be drafted second over all to make millions, if Adam Morrison can be drafted at all.... Scotty will be too. and He will make a team somewhere if only to ride the pine.

Remember, Scotty already put in paperwork once. If he tests the waters he'll be all in.

Who am I describing? He loses his handle on drives. He floats rainbow jumpers at a low percentage. He gets totally lost on defense. He doesn't rebound. He is weak in the upper body. Lastly, he mopes around when he screws up or doesn't get his way.

And the NBA doesn't see that? Loften and Chism are not in the NBA and they did all of the above better than Hopson. Unfortunately we are stuck with him for another year unless he heads to Europe. Here's to the hope that he gets hot the rest of the season and decides to take the leap.

Scotty tore it up in the offseason in camps and practices against NBA players. He is also the leader of our team and having a very strong year this year. He will be a late first or very early second round pick in the 2011 draft and I fully expect him to go pro after this year barring a lockout disaster. I'm not saying he will be a good NBA player, but with the money that will be thrown in front of him after this year, he would be idiotic to return. His jump shot has drastically improved this year and his has the athletic ability to play in the NBA. If you don't believe me then wait until the draft this year and then come back and talk smack afterwards because whether anyone likes it or not he will be drafted in the first 2 rounds.

Tobias needs another year, but Bruce's situation may make him go pro after this year. Tobias really needs to work on his low post scoring, jump shot and defense. He should be ready to go pro after his soph. year, although he may be a first round pick this year. I don't think it's a bad thing if they both go pro, we desparately need some UT players in the NBA. Also, it's Bruce's fault we don't have backup plans in place. I think next year will be a struggle to make the tournament, hopefully Bruce gets some JUCO's or DeAndre Daniels. Things are looking good for Stokes in 2012.

Lofton and Chism's problem is that they don't have an NBA position. If Lofton was even 6'4", he probably would have already gotten a shot.

Chism has the same problem. He's not quick enough for the perimeter and not big enough for the paint in the NBA.

Scotty's 6'7", quick, and can shoot. He'll play for years in the league.

I'd love for the Vols to be stuck with Hopson another year. He's a very good college player.

Scotty's body type alone puts him ahead a lot of the competition. He will be drafted in the late first/ early second... unless we make a deep tournament run. Also, his off-season workouts this past summer impressed a good amount of scouts, and he will only improve in those this summer.

Harris may be a "two and done" but not a "one and done". He still needs a little polish and some work on defense.

I probably the only person who does, but I don't believe Harris will leave after one year. He has great pro potential, but he needs to stay another year. He could be remembered as one our best all round players ever if he stays. JMO

Hopson=scotty thurman. No nba career. Sorry, been watching hoops for 35 years and if you can't dribble, defend or rebound you aren't sticking around. He needs to excel at one skill set and, unfortunately, he excels at none. IMHO

the future does not look bright for the bball team at this point. With one of our two recruits already waiving red flags, the ambiguity surrounding the Pearl situation, no off campus recruiting, and the natural attrition of players things look pretty bad. I think Tobias will go if Pearl is gone. If that were to happen then we would need to get a big time coach in here or we get more buzz ball. This may be the last "good" season of bball we see for a few years.

Wow, that's the worst possible spin to put on things.

With or without Harris, we're going to be thin in the post next year unless we get a JUCO. Best case: Hall, Harris, Maymon. Worst case is Hall and Maymon, with no real backup at either position. That would be a problem. My guess is they're going to have to move Woolridge back inside.

At guard/wing, though, we should be solid. Golden, Jones, Ware, Tatum, McRae, McBee. 6 guys for 3 positions is fine depth, and the talent is there. I think we keep Jones, but if we don't, it's still not awful.

Will probably be a down year due to post depth if Tobias leaves, but we'll still be middle of the pack.

Any decent coach should be able to recruit enough talent (basically, we need one good post player) to get us right back to the top of the SEC.

Whether that coach is Bruce or someone else, the pieces are there.

Now if Pearl leaves and the hire sucks, of course we're in trouble. But that would be the case whether we had returning talent or not.

some of you are watching a different guy than me, scotty doesnt play D, he cant dribble, he cant pass, he cant shoot consistently and he is the weakest mentally competetive athlete I have ever seen....what in the world could he possibly offer an NBA team?
