Next Years Team

We all know he has trouble dribbling and he doesn't feel like trying on defense most of the time. All that being said though he has a base skill set, and the ability to drive when he is the mood. Someone will take a chance on him, and early second round may be the best for him because he is better than many of the 2nd string 2 and 3 guards on the bottom 8 teams.

some of you are watching a different guy than me, scotty doesnt play D, he cant dribble, he cant pass, he cant shoot consistently and he is the weakest mentally competetive athlete I have ever seen....what in the world could he possibly offer an NBA team?

Exactly, the people in the NBA that are Scotty's size are great ball handlers and great defenders. They definitely don't dribble it off their leg two or three times in one game. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Scotty and our team but lets keep it real in here! Hopson is not an NBA player right now.

There are plenty of guys who enter the draft early each year who aren't NBA players.

Hopson's game is nothing like Scotty Thurman's and his pro career won't be like it either. Thurman was a forward that could shoot 3's better than Hopson, but Scotty is way more explosive and athletic. If you guys don't think he is going to do well in the NBA then why the hell does Jay Bilas and multiple scouts rave about Hopson's ability, especially his play against NBA players last summer. The college and pro games are completely different and Scotty's game is much better suited for the pros. Hopson is being double teamed when he gets the ball in the corner and yes he sometimes makes bad mistakes when he dribbles on the wing, but when he moves forward with the ball, he is extremely hard to stop due his athleticism and quickness. He will be a very hard player to guard in the NBA because permiter defenses are usually 1 on 1 and he will no longer be doubled teamed regularly.

The success of next year's team will probably revolve around two things besides Pearl's fate. First is whether Tobias stays or not because that will give us a go to guy and natural leader. Second whether Chris Jones can take over at point guard. If not, Pearl needs to go the JUCO route immediately. Golden is not a true point guard and will probably play a lot better at the 2 guard position because he can shoot. He was recruited to play at the 2 guard as well.
