is going to be good. They are going to have basically every main contributor except Cam back, and will add something with Stokes having some games under his belt and D'Montre Edwards (who is going to be a solid guy here).

I think the depth chart is going to be:

PG Golden/Washpun
SG McRae/McBee/Cheivous
SF Richardson/Edwards
PF Stokes/Mitchell (not committed yet, but I think we get him)
C Maymon/Hall/Yemi

Top 25 quality?

Top 25 quality?

Can I watch them the rest of the SEC season first? :)

They'll make the tourney though.

I want to see how good Stokes is and the improvement of Trae Golden before I starting writing them in on my top 25 ballot.

Fair enough

Um...you say they are going to be good and then you aren't confident they will be in top 25.

How do you set your expectation of good? Top 15 for me. Good means shot at long run in tourney. Sorry I refuse to go back to old Tennessee ball standard

Hopefully:
PG Stanton//Washpun
SG Golden/McRae/McBee/Cheivous
SF Richardson/Edwards/Reese(redshirt)
PF Stokes/Maymon
C Hall/Yemi

Hope we get Mitchell, but.
Hall has to play like he did against FLA or better.

Unless we find an SEC quality point guard, we're still going to struggle. Although it'll certainly be leaps and bounds over this year's team.

I read a article on tos that said we have already used our allotment of scholarships...which would rule out Mitchell if that's accurate.

College Basketball is one of those fickle mistresses that is hard to predict. I have seen numerous teams (including quite a few UT teams) where they return every starter and are worse the next season or just as mediocre, you also see the team that returns numerous players get drastically better.

A lot of Buzz and Green teams are examples of the former along with Vandy this year (at least early on) and pretty much every Florida team for the last 16 years, there is always so much preseason hype about florida and all their returning starters every year only for their mediocre teams to continue to thrive in mediocrity (sans the 2nd championship season, but if IRC they had a worse season W/L wise the second year)

For the latter you see teams like LSU this season or Indiana where nobody sees that Kind of improvement coming

If we keep seeing improvement throughout this season you can bank on us being a force next year. If this teams stifles late in the year then we can be concerned

There are a couple scenarios in which a scholarship can open up. McBee could return to walk-on status, someone will likely transfer (almost inevitable when a new coach comes in with a bevy of new players trying to blend with older ones), someone doesn't qualify academically, etc.

I'm not as certain Mitchell is as much a shoe-in as others seem to believe. He likes us for sure, but since he waited to sign until spring, you can bet a top 70 big man will see his offer list increase significantly as post-season attrition sets in at some of the high profile schools, be it players transferring, leaving for the NBA, etc. Beyond that, he has yet to achieve a qualifying test score.

As for our team next season, we should improve through natural progression, with or without Mitchell. That said, like omg said, it doesn't always happen for one reason or another. It's fun to speculate, but difficult to be accurate. I think, right now, this team would be a bubble tourney team next year, but that is a VERY early guess.

On paper yes...we have used up all our scholarships. If Mitchell commits to the vols, then there will be one that opens for him.

Dwight Miller hasn't gotten on the court in a good long while. Just sayin

Also will be a 5th year senior that could transfer and play anywhere immediately. I think he's the odd man out.

Good to me for next year will be an NCAA Tourney run. Usually that's a good season for Tennessee basketball.

So maybe I should have put good season instead of good team, though we definitely have that potential.

I would say if Miller doesn't break the line up soon, we'll lose him in the off season.

So, you don't think if Mitchell committs to UT he won't be on schooly? Trust me, he will.
Really depends on how much he wants to be a Vol.
He could greyshirt and delay enrollment until a scholly comes open.
Up to him.

He used a smilie face, so I think you're overreacting, Brandi.
