He used a smilie face, so I think you're overreacting, Brandi.

You're anti-Pearl agenda has no boundaries does it? We could try discussing Middle Eastern peacekeeping efforts here, and you would find a way to work in a Pearl-affiliated jab.

Let it go man.

I am very excited as well about how this team will look next year, and see what kind of off-season coaching coach martin's staff is capable of. I believe some of the players on the roster will extremely benefit from being in coach martin's off-season workout program, and adapting parts of their games in which he wants to utilize them and improve on. Obviously a lot can change between now and the beginning of next year, and i do expect some change but here is my guess towards a rotation next year:

PG: Trae Golden/Wes Washpun
SG: Jordan Mcrae/Skylar McBee
SF: Josh Richardson/ D'montre Edwards
PF: Jarnell Stokes/Jeronne Maymon
C: Jeronne Maymon/Kenny Hall

Obviously if Mitchell comes in then things will change a little bit. I think Maymon has to start, proving so far that he is one of our best players, and probably our best rebounder and interior defender i see no way coach martin does not start him. Coach Martin wants to play 9 guys, maybe 10 at most so you will probably see a little bit of Yemi at the 5 for a few minutes a game, much the same as how you see him this year.

Go Big Orange!

This may have been mentioned before, but if a scholly doesn't open up its possible Reese could attend prep school for a year and be part of the 2013 class.

unless that kid starts showing improvement he may not be ending up at ut. i really have been unimpressed in everything that i have read and seen on him. maybe i am wrong i just dont see good things from him, almost more of a project. with coach martin in on some of the guys he is for this year, mithcell, and hoping for a monster '13 class you may see reese ending up somewhere else, especially if he goes to a prep school. that could end up being the best thing for both parties if tennessee is able to pull some of the big time recruits that they are in on.

unfortunately he is only a junior

How is that unfortunate? We can all see his limitations in getting shots against good teams, but we may not have beaten some of the bad teams this year without him. Ever think about that?

I like skylar and I think coach Martin really does as well as skylar will dive and burn himself on the hardwood without thinking twice. Unfortunately, he is limited and that is nobody's fault, he just doesn't have the size or athletic gift that he needs at this level, and effort honest can only get you so far. The good news is mcbee is a great kid and student and would probably go back to a walk-on if coach asked him to, so they could bring in a Mitchell if they wanted to.

Also will be a 5th year senior that could transfer and play anywhere immediately. I think he's the odd man out.

ZJC.....what are your thoughts on chievous(sp?)? I know he is very raw and considered a project, do you see him leaving or getting time on the floor here? I know he really likes Martin as they are both from close to the same area and had a good connection. I almost wonder if initially cuonzo Thought they were gonna start lower than they really are. He brought in yemi, Wes, and chievous along with miller. All 4 guys really need work, I think wes will be good, yemi has the chance to be I really don't know much about chievous though. I didn't mention josh because I do think he was an instant impact guy ready to contribute and that he will be a good player for us. The rest of the class though I wonder if coach was at all surprised with the interest from some of the top talent they have seen(stokes, Mitchell, king, landry to name a few). The same can be said about the Reese kid for next year as well, seems like a bit of a project player.

no no no.. Without his perimeter shooting THIS SEASON we would have struggled to beat several opponents.

And nowhere in what I said did I dispute that, against UTC he truly was a weapon, against Memphis eh not so much. The difference is the caliber of player he is going against. I like skylar just as much as anybody and have no problem with him being on scholarship, just saying if someone like Mitchell wants to come here you find a way to get him here, and the most logical way is have skylar go back to being a walk on.

The most logical way is to not give new scholarships to a bunch of guys that are inferior to Mitchell. Not take current scholarship players off scholarship. Who does that?

i agree with that statement thats why i was saying earlier i really wonder if coach martin felt that they were starting from lower down with the rebuilding process. im starting to think the way the numbers are looking and the people they had offered that they really werent expecting to garner some of the attention from top level recruits that they have.

as far as taking scholarships away from players this happens much more often than you would think. it usually doesnt come out sounding like that that hey your now a walk-on cause this guy is better it usually goes a different route. Usually, this is where alot of your transfers come from the coach will bring in a player and say the whole speal about going a different route and suggesting they look elsewhere. Most players cant afford to pay their way to school and dont have the grades to gain scholarships so when this happens they are forced to transfer out of the program somewhere where they can get another scholarship. In skylar's case, he has stated from day one that he would walk-on at UT because that is where he wants to be. He is also a good student from everything i have heard and would most likely be able to be on HOPE and so his school would be covered anyways. Im not saying this is the right thing to do, but it is a business and coaches are trying to win and keep their jobs.

I'm not sure. Apparently Chevious is not ready for big time college basketball. Big time defender, but really raw offensively. I know Martin likes him.
