Next yr starting 5

Kaiya really needs a 10-12’ jumper. She can get by anyone with her first step and she gets ton of open space in that range. She doesn’t shoot well though so has to go all the way to the rim and she can’t finish against the bigger players in the SEC like she could in HS.

Work on that rise and fire jumper this summer and she’ll be unstoppable.
If I was her coach first thing I would tell her is that she needed to completely change her shooting style. She needs to get with a trainer and coach over the summer and completely change her game on offense. She has athletic ability second to almost no one, but her basketball skills need a lot of refining.

Yeah, I can see it. Like Burrell and Jordy pull up for the midrange. Excellent point. On the other hand, she plays the shooting guard position, so a long range shot might be a good thing to develop over time.

I’m guessing Miles gets asked to leave after the season is over. Part of the reason why getting a PG in the portal was so important. I hope I’m wrong because I really like Miles.
I sure don't see that. For a freshman, Miles has had a good year. Besides, she has a good bit of that
tiger in her, and I like to see a fighter that will not back down. Her defense, this year, has been
first-rate and I think her offense is only going to get better. I think she is going to be a player next year. actually, I think all of our freshmen are going to be excellent bench players for us next year.

Some enterprising entrepreneur could market internationally by creating an ad featuring Uros, Jessie, Olivier, Marta, and Santiago.

The add that features all of them would market the University of Tennessee to foreign athletes quite nicely. And don't forget Liam Spence from the baseball team of last year.

Don't want to be negative, but the fact is, Jordan Walker is more of a liability at point guard. She makes a good play every now and then, but the careless passes and turnovers are killers.

I do not believe she will see much time the other people we have coming in. I want to see us push the ball up the court much faster and not allow defenses to set up.

I am very excited about next year. We will have a bunch of players who will hustle for 40 minutes. Too many of our games this year were close simply because we did not hustle and fight for the ball for 40 minutes; only 12 to 15, maybe. We won the game against Belmont with the big shot by Sara Puckett, but they embarrassed us with their hustle. That should never happen. Having bad shooting nights will happen, but we SHOULD NEVER BE OUTHUSTLED. That is something we can absolutely control.
You are right about we shouldn't get out hustled especially in a tournament where is one loss and you're done but the regular season I can see it happening a time or two just because they're young ladies going to classes and other outside activities apart from school

i don't don't think we were outhustled. It may have looked that way because Belmont was a quicker and faster team, but we were hustling for the 50/50 balls, just not getting our fair share due to lack of quickness and footspeed.

I think some of those 50/50 retrievals were aided by assistance to the “scrappy” team.
hopefully in this next game the LVs get some underdog calls cuz they’re “scrapping.” For example, near the end of the game when down 2, Snoop got that O-board and was fouled twice trying to pass it out to Walker. She got raked twice on the arm, one on the left arm and then on the right with the pass to the point. No way she would randomly lob a wet sponge 3 feet from herself. The enraging thing was, there was not a Belmont player even close to the actual ball as she was raked from behind. How could they not possibly see it?

Agreed, my comment was not related to her on court performance at all.

Bringing in Powell, Jackson, Pissott, & with Horston & Suarez back healthy, add the four freshman who have so much potential, not to mention Key, no way Walker & Darby get as many minutes they’ve got this season. No need IMO. They actually can be used in certain situations off of the bench.

Yes,she really needs to work on that shot And free throws!!! If she improves on that she is another Rae!!

That's why Darby is going to be motivated to work on other facets of her offense or yes she could be sitting a lot

I believe Jordan W might be a bigger contributor next season. We should not forget that she has scored over 1100 points thus far in her career Jordan W averaged 7.6 ppg, 4.6 rpg, and 3.4 apg this season. She will play primarily the SG position next season where she will be a bigger scoring threat. She'll have a stellar season.

I agree. People don’t think she can score at the SG for UT but I think she can.

I’m afraid we will be losing BK after this season. Everyone else’s posts on IG yesterday were about next season. Her stories were crossed fingers and worried face emojis. Seems like her status as a Lady Vol may be up in the air right now.

Makes me super sad because I love her game so much. Really hope they come to some sort of compromise and she can stay as a Lady Vol. Purely a guess, but didn’t seem to hard to read between the lines. She obviously wants to continue to be a Lady Vol.

Pay attention.. Wynn definitely plays the SG position!
I believe Horston will start at the 3 position and Rickea at the 4. How can Marta be expected to compete for a starting position when you have players like Puckett plus Rickea transferring in? She’ll definitely be filling the role previously held by Keyen Green but at the 4 spot if she’s healthy. I think the PG spot will see the most distribution of minutes with Powell, Walker, and Miles. There’s no way Coach Harper suspended Miles for 1 game just to have her dismissed after the season. There might be more discipline coming but I’ll be shock if she isn’t here in the fall.
