Fantastic idea and very impressive progress. Please keep us posted! I will definitely be interested in a signed print.

Just an idea: you could keep the idea/license for yourself and sell via word of mouth/internet marketing. I would guess that your profit % will be significantly higher. I, for one, would be quite willing to purchase at least a few for unique Christmas/birthday presents.

Recently, I have been working on a Neyland Stadium piece to include the new renovations outside of the stadium. I still have a ways to go, but you can see what it might look like from the photo (only a small portion). From my own research, I have found very few fine art pieces of the stadium (none with the new renovations), and I?m wondering if Vol fans would be interested in mine.

My hope is to have the image reproduced and sold this Fall, though I have never really done this kind of thing before. I spoke with the licensing department at UT, and they suggested I contact "Bacon and Company" in Knoxville to have it reproduced and sold for a royalty. Would any of you have more suggestions for me?

So guys, I was talking with my wife about selling these prints before the games on Saturdays, where I could sign the prints in person. I am not a well-known artist by any means, but maybe some folks would like to meet the artist at the point of purchase. If we went that route I have two questions though:

1. Would it be better to sell them rolled up in one of those tube thingies to keep them protected, or keep them flat with a backing and clear envelope? I personally prefer the latter, but if you are about to go to a football game, the tube might make more sense.

2. The dimensions are 1x2 ft. Would you offer more sizes? If so, what sizes (and prices) would you offer?

Thanks for all your help VN. This has been a great way for me to gauge interest. While I still might try to have the work lisensed and sold in retail, maybe I can work out a deal so that I can additionally print my own and take orders. It looks like a few of you would be interested. Thanks and GBO!!!

P.S. I'll try to add more update pics to the thread as I get more done on the piece.

awesome work.. very talented. I hope you get to sell these things in some shape form or fashion. I would love to walk by on game day and see this in stores or maybe see you on the sidewalk selling and signning :thumbsup:

Selling them at Neyland would definitely stimulate impulse buying but remember the context within which your artwork will be transported as fans exit our beloved shrine, i.e. a mass of humanity jostling for position. Keeping a print in pristine condition under those circumstances all but demands a heavy-duty plastic tube for protection. Furthermore, if the sky is even slightly threatening, I would think you can forget about selling high-end prints without a protective tube. Pad your prices for game day purposes enough to cover the cost of providing the protective tube.

Definitely use a tube, but have some out facing all directions.

Also, make sure to call UT ASAP to get cleared for being a vendor.

I'd have an easel or something of the sort facing all 4 directions with you standing in the middle

I always park at the bottom of Cumberland Ave and walk the strip before going to the stadium. If you set up there, I'd gladly walk my print(s) back to my vehicle rather than carrying it into the stadium. I would imagine we could sell a bunch of 'em for u just by showing your work as it is now. Great job. Can't wait to see the final work!

Do not think they would allow you to sell them outside of the stadium or on campus without the school's approval, meaning they will get a cut. Maybe a business owner along the strip would let you sell something there.... maybe you can work out a deal where they get a print out of it or something. Not sure what kind of license to sell you might need to do that either (assuming that it is enforced).

Hey guys, I will try to keep posting updates on the work if you guys are interested (kind of like a blog). I think it would be cool to have a small (but loyal) following of die-hard vol fans!

Alright VN, I NEED YOUR HELP!!! In order to set up and sell my prints on Gameday's this Fall, I must have two things.

1. A vendors license from the city.
2. Permission from a property owner to set up at their location.

I will purchase a vendor's license no problem; however, I need some help to figure out where I can set up and who I should contact for written permission. The University will not grant this permission, so the strip makes the most sense due to the heavy traffic. What businesses there should I contact? If anyone has advice, please pass it my way.

If I'm able to get this thing going, I will be sure to let everyone know where I'll be and when I'll be there so you can pay a visit!

Looks fantastic Man! I was finally able to see it on my PC. Looking forward to seeing it in person.

PS - Maybe you could add some zombies roaming around the gates ;o)))

maybe if you gave the #1 copy to a local place on the strip, they'd let you setup there. Not sure what would give you the most traffic, though. Maybe Gus' on the corner? But it's not really ON the strip. Perhaps Rocky Top books?

Very nice. You might make more $$$ just selling to people straight up on here via paypal. I would not hesitate to pay $50 for the print assuming the continued quality.

You should consider doing a jigsaw puzzle of it also. Also will you be giving a copy to coach Dooley?

Hey guys, I thought I would let you know how my Neyland Stadium piece is going. Hoping to be done near the end of the month. GO VOLS!!!

P.S. Would anyone know what businesses on the strip might give me permission to sell outside their building on gamedays?
