Can’t read the article because I refuse to pay for their trash, but so far it’s the only place I’ve seen this reported. Could be amazing, but I imagine you’ll have to be pretty well off to be able to afford one, especially during the season.

It's a possible redevelopment of the G10 garage site. While that would be a great location for a hotel with it right on the river, losing that many parking spots adjacent to Neyland/TBA will start a lot of complaining.

I thought it was property adjacent to G10 that hasn't been developed.

Master plan calls it ”Neyland Stadium Hotel and G10 redevelopment” on page 18.

i would guess since you have to have parking for hotel they would build a larger garage with some spots reserved for Hotel on a smaller footprint and a hotel on part of the old footprint. Just guessing…

They’re not going to tear down that garage. They will probably add to the garage for it to connect to the hotel which will fill in the gap between the garage and new Engineering building.

So the Neyland Stadium South Plaza is going to be 10+ years? I thought that was part of the Neyland Stadium renovation plan in the next 4-5 years.

Boo.

I would not put a hotel in a stadium. Speaking as a Chelsea FC (Premier League Soccer) fan, there's a hotel attached to their stadium and apparently it's been one of the biggest waste of money.

It's beside the garage.

The number of students attending colleges and universities has peaked, both in terms of their perceived market value and demographics.

New sources of revenue will have to be developed while they slowly, reluctantly reconnect with economic reality and divest themselves of excess faculty positions. As dependence on politicized research grants and post-modernism's assault on objective understanding erode their value as a storehouse of knowledge and discovery, land will become their most valuable asset.

IMHO, of course.

That location back in '93-'97 when I was an undergrad is where people snuck into the games . There was about a one foot disparity where the chain link fence came together and you could squeeze right through. Life was good before 9/11.

Anything that close to Neyland would need to be cleared and sealed the night before a game in the same way Alumni Gym and portions of Zeanah are. That would seem to be an issue for a hotel
Reading more into this it sounds like the hotel could potentially be where the team stays the night before the game. It sounds like other major programs have a similar set up and right now if I’m not mistaken the tram stays at the crown plaza on nights before the game.

This is the new trend at some SEC institutions like Alabama and Auburn and South Carolina.
