Where does this stop?
Project Identifies Athletic Facilities Named After Figures With Racist Pasts | Inside Higher Ed
The football stadium at the University of Tennessee, Neyland Stadium, is named for a former coach who refused to compete against college teams with Black players. Robert Neyland, who was Tennessee’s football coach and an administrator until 1962, also “verbally abused” a Black student for attempting to try out for the basketball team, the project report said.

Greta I mean this in the nicest way possible and you probably should take this advice:
SHUT THE **** UP
You don’t want this headache in your life because the crazies of #Voltwitter will come after you mercilessly . They are an insane group of people that will do some pretty embarrassing things for our school to make your life miserable. They are psychos, but most importantly they are our psychos.

It didn’t take two days for Clemson to rip off the name of the person who literally started the school. If you don’t think it’s possible, you aren’t paying attention.
That's not even close to the same situation. One was a slave owner/advocate on his plantation and the other may have yelled at a black kid

This random article is meaningless and people need to stop giving credence to everyone who believes their terrible idea had any merit

Compare what the Clemson founder did to Neyland's isolated transgression. BTW, I pay attention. Not so much to the fear mongering from either side

Volunteer has to be changed as well. It invokes feelings of non inclusion for handicap people unable to volunteer for the military. It represents the civil war when many Tennesseans volunteered to fight for the south. That does not foster inclusiveness and puts many minorities at risk. It also is a slight against Mexican Americans due to the Alamo and invokes and fosters White Supremacy that has been a global phenomenon for millennia and must be stopped because it makes others feel sad when they cant be proud of their ancestors and their lack of any real accomplishments on a global scale.
