I would say by the letter of the law it's probably a penalty, but by spirit of the law, the safety was ensuring Gronk didn't get it so I feel like it was justified.

The lb was ensuring Gronk couldn't get it, that's always been illegal, face guarding is illegal, holding is illegal. It could have been a penalty 3 different ways.

My point is only that Gronk didn't know where the ball was until late in the play. The safety saw it way before him and had better position. Gronk was not getting it even if the LB doesn't interfere.

I would be mad if I were a Pats fan, but they beat Atlanta on a no-call PI so I'd say justice is served.
