We won't get Chow. I'd love to have him on the team, but it's just not going to happen.

I dont think Chow wants to leave the Titans. They have a lot of talent, they just arent experienced. They'll make a strong playoff run in the next couple of years...

Well, Chow is still gunning for the HC position. He can come in, prove himself for a few years at Tennessee then take over for Fulmer when CPF retires.

Unless the Titans do start doing well, then Chow will probably just end up a college HC anyhow.

Last I heard, Chavis is making around $250k, that is comparable to a lot of NFL coordinators. I think that Fulmer should volunteer to give up a couple hundred thousand per year to secure a good OC, give Chief a raise to $300k/yr (NFL is already looking at him) and allow UT to once again become a perennial power in the SEC and nation. giving up one or two hundred thousand per year to secure his position for another ten years at $2M/yr, that is job security.......IMO

the possibility of taking over the program when phil retires could draw somebody like henning to UT.

I agree....Fulmer is what 5 years away from retiring? I see the stress on the mans face even in wins...IMO itd be a great career move for Chow.

Since we're talking about potential replacements for CPF 5yrs. + down the line, if he hasn't been plucked by the NFL yet, I don't know how you look past Chavis. Let him be HC and DC and turn the reins of the offense over to someone else. I'd love it.

I think the more likely scenario would be for Chow to stay where he is for a few years and take a HC position when it opens whether it be NFL or CFB. Why would a highly regarded OC make a lateral move to a college program for a lot less money just to put himself in position to take over if and when CPF retires? As for his situation with the Titans, it was well known when Chow came in that they would need a few years to get back to thier winning ways. They dumped almost all of thier veteran foundation to get under the cap and rebuild. They are the youngest team in the league, and Both Chow and management knew from the get go it would take a couple of years to get back on track....no one really expected a playoff caliber team right away. Henning is one thing, but Chow is another.
