All of the players are black, might as well make it a plantation game and make em all black.

I didn’t realize that your jimmies were rustled so much by trying to even the playing field for minorities.
The **** is a jimmie?

Anyway. I don't care what the motivation is, really. Just because you carry some grandiose goal of perfect statistical equality doesn't mean your plan doesn't suck and is built on wrong assumptions about how to do that. Using racism to fix racism... Shockingly enough, has just led to more racism. The affirmative action movement in Academia for example has demonstrated that pretty soundly in the last 30 years.

What a crock. Why should someone who isn't qualified be hired regardless of race? How about evening the playing field for white players at RB and DB? Should that be voted on as well?

How do you know they are unqualified? The numbers speak for themselves. 70% of the players are African American while only 4 of the 32 teams have a black coach. That is a massive discrepancy

Those are two different jobs with two entirely different predictors for success. Why should the racial diversity be exactly the same?

Again, what about the discrepancy in the number of black players over white ones all across the league, especially at certain positions.

I’m not implying that it be 50/50. That’s never going to happen nor would it be necessary. The problem is that white coaches seem to get the benefit of the doubt far more than black coaches. The league continually hires retreads that have failed at every stop they’ve had instead of trying something new.

Players have the opportunity to win a job by competing against their colleagues every year whether they are black or white. Coaches don’t have that same opportunity afforded to them

I can’t imagine the owners approving this. How about we just accept they hire the most qualified person for the job

Now that it's leaked out it'll be awfully tough for them to vote it down. Especially if the actual results of the vote are released. The media will be all over the teams that voted no
