NFL owners considering adding resolution to improve teams draft position if they hire a minority coach/GM.

How do you know they are unqualified? The numbers speak for themselves. 70% of the players are African American while only 4 of the 32 teams have a black coach. That is a massive discrepancy
It’s bc African- Americans can typically run faster and jump higher than your typical white player..... those attributes don’t seem to matter as much as a coach or GM

The thing that has always blown my mind is how willing owners are to recycle head coaches and give them 2nd and 3rd chances. There are only 32 of these jobs. You’d think they’d move on to new blood after seeing a guy fall on his face.

He's won two Super Bowls.

It’s not a bad example. He was a broken elbow away from possibly being fired this season. Yeah he won a Super Bowl, but he’s underachieved at times, he’s run a pretty loose ship and he’s lucky to be a part of such a stable organization who obviously treats everyone fairly. I’m sure when he’s no longer a member of the Steelers organization he won’t have a problem being the head coach at another organization like all the other NFL retreads.

He’s won 1 Super Bowl as a head coach and if he doesn’t make the playoffs this year he will be fired. That much talent and no playoff wins since 2016 will get you fired in that 2 team division.

If the Ravens make this their team plane they'll never lose another game:

I love the 'talent' argument in sports. Talent doesn't matter anywhere near as much as chemistry and discipline. It's a team game. As much as I hate the Patriots, I love Belicheck (as a coach). He doesn't kiss their ass for doing their job. He hires to fit needs to HIS system. If they don't fit, away they go. He made Tommy what he is, not the other way around. Had Brady been in Cleveland he would have been gone long ago. It ain't rocket surgery. The players are employees and they are ALL replaceable. NONE of them are the be all end all to the NFL being what it is. Belicheck is apparently the only one that realizes this and he has a bunch of jewelry to prove it. What is hysterical to me is that none of these owners/coaches can or want to duplicate what he has done. Why is that?

I hope that is what CJP is doing here at UT, but I don't know.

I don’t know. You can copycat schemes, draft the same, but it comes down to the culture and personalities of the decision makers. People have been critical of Tomlin for running a pretty loose ship around there and it has been detrimental to their team. I will say that putting up with AB for that long had to miserable .

Most would assume this post is a joke, but you're likely serious about this suggestion
Exactly. You can name at least 1 white RB. There are no white CB's, so that would be a better comparison.

Hopefully the PGA will vote to cut strokes off of a golfers round if he hires a minority caddy. Extra strokes off it's a super offended minority like a transgender.

Those are good ones but have no relevance to one another. As far as white CB's go, the reason there aren't many of them is because very few white people are fast and quick enough to be an NFL CB. I believe the last one was Jason Sehorn

Who cares if they have the qualifications to be a CB in the NFL, draft them anyway in the first round just for fairness

Yep..... Adam Gase being hired right after being fired still blows my mind

The last two years.... the Steelers lost Ben and the year before Brown pretty much quit on the team and Bell held out all year long but yeah he definitely needs to get it done this year.
