The NFL is so boring and bland to me. People say it's the best but I don t see it. The regular season means squat in the League, 7-9 can get you into the playoffs this year. That to me is socialism at its finest. Let's give everyone a chance even though they don't deserve it.
College Football and the SEC especially is the greatest football in the known world. Every game is meaningful and that's what make it so great. The passion, the tradition is unmatched. The playoffs will ruin this I fear. They will only add more teams as the years go buy and this great sport will die.

Just when I think that you have reached the pinnacle of your out in left field mentality, you go and post this. The rest of the world, just based off Nielsen ratings alone, say you're off your rocker again.

I have a feeling you're in the minority here. What is your take on the current situation in both sports. Are you alarmed?

Minority where? In the South or on a college football board? Of course I am, but nationally the NFL is much more popular. And what situation are you talking about? What the hell would I be alarmed for? Do you even have a clue what Socialism is? Comparing the NFL to Socialism is just about at off as comparing the NFL to slavery.

Do you think the playoff in College football will water down the sport?

I know what socialism is, that's why I made the comparison I did. In the NFL you are rewarded for mediocrity just like in the old Soviet Union and places all across Europe today.

I follow the NFL also but College Football to me is so much more interesting. There's no comparison to the spirit exhibited by College Football fans as compared to NFL fans.

I like college football just a little bit better. The NFL gets more fun during these cold weather months.

The only fans in the NFL who come close to making it a College Football atmosphere is the Green Bay Packers fans. The Saints fans act the same way LSU fans do.

I agree, however I think with the new playoff format, we are in danger of losing that edge that the College game has.

1)Absolutely not, its the best way to get a true champion. Would like to see it expanded as a 16 team playoff.

2)You are clearly clueless as to what Socialism is.....this isnt the first example of you showing this lack of a clue on the subject.

3)How exactly are you rewarded for mediocrity in the NFL? With this logic, you would be against the SEC East having a representative in the SECCG seeing as the best SEC East team is statistically tied with the third best team in the SEC West as of today.

With being moved around in the military I can say that the environment in many stadiums, depending on matchup, is just as crazy and exciting as it is in college stadiums. Personally I get more excited and enjoy the traditions of UT football compared to when I go to Eagle's games, but most of that is contributed to being raised on it and in this part of the country. Do a poll of people north of Kentucky and West of Ohio and it is the complete opposite.

I sort of wish College Football could go back to the Bowl system it had from the 1970s-1990s where each Bowl could pretty much invite who they wanted(with the exception of the Orange,Sugar,Cotton and Rose who had agreements with Conferences). I liked the National Champions being decided by final Polls at the end of the year.

If there is a tournament the right way would be a 16 team Tournament like FCS does it.

What edge is that? Picking a championship game from a computer? The old system was terrible and championships were determined by a ranking system instead of on the field. You telling me that, just for a small example, that the 2004 Auburn team didnt deserve a chance to play for the National Title? With a playoff, they have that opportunity.

1) this would ruin the sport with out a doubt. Regular season games would become less and less important know that you might get in with two to three losses.

2) again socialism is basically the redid union of wealth, rewarding someone who didn't work as hard as someone else who is then given the same opportunity.

3) no I wouldn't. You make a good point but that's how conference champions work. If there wasn't a playoff, we wouldn't have this problem because the BCS would pick the best team.

With a playoff there will always be someone who is "left out" no matter how many teams are allowed in. Should we have a 64 team playoff? It doesn't work.

Yeah, it has done so much to ruin the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, FCS, etc. etc. regular seasons.

The BCS hardly ever picked the best team, because there's no way to determine that without teams playing each other

The BCS is what made College DIFFEReNT though, it made it great, more exciting. Now the regular season will suffer and only get worst as they add more teams. It's starting to become apparent that you do not know what socialism is if you can't understand what I am saying.

I have a pulse is why I can't understand what you are saying. A 7-9 team winning their division and getting a ticket to the playoffs isnt anything close to Socialism.



The regular season will not suffer, teams still have to win and they have to beat who is in front on their schedule and a 16 team playoff will make college football that much more exciting. The BCS definitely made college football different, it was the only format that determined Championship games on paper. A 7-9 team making it to the playoffs rarely happens in the NFL.....and even then, if they are terrible like their record shows, they will be going back home in the first round.

I think the Falcons will win the NFC South with a 7-9 record. Unfortunately that will mean that they will have to probably go play the Cardinals and it'll screw up their draft position. I do think the Falcons will have a new head coach in 2015.
