There has always been a debate about whether or not a College team could actually beat a NFL Team.

With that said, I don't think any average college team would even keep it close with a NFL team.

So my question, could a great college team beat a bad NFL team?

If not, could a team like, the 95' Huskers, or 01' Hurricanes or the 04' Trojans, beat the 2006 Oakland Raiders?

There really is no debate. Any NFL team would crush the best college football team anytime, anywhere. Think about it this way, every starter on an NFL team is typically an NFL draft pick. Even the best college teams only have 10-12 draft ready players (at the most) in any given year.

The college team would get used and abused at every position, especially in the trenches.

From the 2007 Pro Bowl alone, there was FIVE 2001 Miami Hurricane players in this years alone, Pro Bowl.

By the time all of the players from the 2001 Miami Hurricanes team were gone, there was 16 total NFL first rounders on the team and 33 total draft picks.

Whether they were starting or on the bench.

The more I look into this team, I think there is no doubt that 01 Miami was the best team in College Football history, and IMO could give the 06 Raiders a game.

But thats just me.

they may have became great players in the NFL, but the '01 team wasn't ready for the 06 raiders or any other team in the NFL. They might put up a couple of scores if the O-line held up, but they'd still lose.

I recall DeAngelo Hall had an interview once in which he talked about his first practices with the Falcons. He was a great DB in college, but he said that every single WR on the practice team absolutely tore him apart.

Not a chance. That awful Raiders team is filled with guys that were thier schools top players. No college team could or ever will be able to beat a NFL team. Reggie Bush is one of the most talented guys to come out of college in the last 15 years and it took him several NFL games to adjust and make a serouis impact. NO CHANCE!

It would be fun if some teams would play an exhibition game before the season started, like the Braves always play Georgia Tech in spring training. Titans vs. Vols, Dolphins vs. Hurricanes, Falcons vs. Bulldogs or Jackets, Colts vs. Notre Dame, Browns vs. Buckeyes -- local matchups like those would be great. They could charge $10 for tickets and give it all to charity. The risk of injury makes it totally impossible, unfortunately.

Not even close. It would be absolute carnage at the line of scrimmage.

Experience vs youth
NFL QB vs College QB is no contest.

Any college team would be eaten alive. Well unless Grossman was QB'ing the pro team. Then the game might be close.

I used to think this was possible, say the '01 Canes vs. a winless NFL team. Probably not. This is just a terrible idea. Not only would the game not be close, but the college kids could get hurt. Let the college vs. pro games happen in baseball. I would not mind seeing a pro vs. college basketball game.

The same Grossman that tore apart great college defenses his entire career at Florida with receivers not as talented as the ones he now has in Chicago.

I don't think a great college team could beat the NFL's worse 2nd string offense and defense.

The physical difference between a 18-22 year old in college and a 22-35 year old man getting paid to be in the weight room is vast. Add to that the experience of the professionals.

All things combined I'd say nolo contendere, for the professionals.
