BTW, Vernon Davis said Witten has the best hands in the entire NFL.

They also plugged Tennessee by announcing we have 6 players in the countdown, second only to Miami's 10.

I think here last season or the season before, I said Witten was as good as any TE in the League and caught some flak for it.

I've thought that a while, but didn't know if it was my Tennessee bias. Guys like Gaites, Davis, Winslow, etc are maybe more dangerous, but Witten is the total package. It only took Witten like 5 years to break all of Novacek's franchise records.

That's what I got at... There are guys who are superior route runners and receivers at TE to Witten, but of all the elite pass-catching TE's in the League, Witten is by far the only one who is actually an all-around quality blocker as well.

Witten is great at everything.

There's two TEs that have a chance to be anywhere near as good at both blocking and receiving as he is in the league today and they're still not close and it's Tony Moeaki and Vernon Davis.

That surprised me.

Obviously Peyton Manning is left on the countdown. I was trying to think of who the 6th guy would be. It can't be Haynesworth because I think this is supposed to be based on what you did in 2010. I'm guessing it would have to be Shaun Ellis, but I am surprised at how high he would have to be ranked.

So they had Davis do the commentary for the bit about Witten (which I thought was interesting since almost everybody doing commentary is a teammate or coach). Davis is a true fan when it comes to Witten. He was all glossy-eyed talking about how great he is. It's cool that guys in the league are still fans like that.

It is strictly based on the 2010 season.

Ellis had a monster game for the Jets on a Monday or Thursday night didn't he?

I saw that. It was pretty cool.

Davis is a stand up guy. He and Rico McCoy were good friends and I had a chance to meet him when he came to Knoxville a few times.

It has to be Ellis.

I think Rodgers should be higher than 11, especially considering his mobility. Polamalu is the best football player in the league to me though.

Rodgers is well on his way to being the best QB in the league imo.

Polamalu and Ed Reed are both up there for me but neither were healthy for a full season.

Well, the team they have around him doesn't hurt. I can't remember who said it (maybe Cris Carter), "Green Bay has the best WR's in the NFL".

The fact of the matter is that, when it mattered most, 1 QB never folded under the pressure. Apparently the players who voted only thought that was good enough for #4 on the list of QBs.

Having him below Brady and Manning is understandable. For the season of 2010, having him below Brees is just flat wrong.

Brees is one of the most respected players in the league. You will never hear a bad word said about him by one of his peers.

I'm not saying Rodgers isn't well thought of by players, it's just the fact Brees has been around longer.
