Nia Moore's game. Why has it

What I like about her that we haven't seen in a LOOOOONG time. She just looks relaxed. Truly just in the moment, playing, not over thinking.

Chipping in on what others have said, Nia seems to have improved her footwork and general set of offensive skills. Knowing the history of the program, the one thing that keeps players out of the regular rotation is not making enough on the defensive end. So, that is probably a major point of improvement, though it may not grab the attention of her offensive output. The one unknown at this point is how will she match up against stronger competition. We will get one data point on that question against Stanford.

While I don't expect Moore to continue her torrid pace of 20 points and 10 boards a game once the competition gets stiffer, at least she is proving she can potentially be a valuable part of the post rotation and not just a spot player....

But with her production though currently, as an opposing coach you are FORCED to look at Nia. So one of two things will happen

1. Opposing team will focus on her the most for a defensive scheme, giving opportunities for the other 4 to step up (which is least likely to happen)
2. Teams will continue to ignore Nia and focus on Graves, Massen, Carter, (allowing Moore to continue her production and I think most likely to happen)

I think Nia will be a productive points player with teams with limited height. She shoots above her head and she is shooting phenomenally. I'm thinking the only team in the SEC that will test her legit will be SCROLINA. They can match us with post height. LSU has height but no one that I've seen that is producing a shut down post player. Vandy does have Webb, but Nia is too fast for her. I can't wait for the SCROLINA game :)

I think the first two games were good tests for Nia because one team (Penn) had a quality post player, and the other team had a 6'7 post. It's not like she was just going to town on 5'10 posts.

I don't think she'll average 20 and 11, but at least Tennessee doesn't need to use Graves as backup for Izzy. Her early season production will mean that teams will have to defend her, and not sag off to go double Graves.

Tennessee will be at their best if all 5 players on the court are legit scoring options. Last year, the offense sputtered in games where Carter, Burdick and Graves were afraid to shoot...especially if Izzy was blanketed or Simmons was misfiring.

offense offense offense, I'm liking the four blocks on defense and the rebounds. Defense and rebounds win championship. Nia please defend, and keep defending.

She was maneuvering around that big 6'7" girl really well. Stanford tallest players that play are all 6'3". I'm certain she can score on anybody. Her ability to rebound will come into question against big body girls we'll see how she does.

I think she is the real deal that got to show her talent when the other players were on probation. I doubt if we would have ever seen her talent if the probations had not happened. Holly is almost forced to play her more. It would be a much needed upside if she started along with Harrison. I think the players 's name is Nared, from Oregon. If you saw some of the all star games she out played Asia Wilson. Wilson starts for South Carolina, but Holly says that Nared needs a little more seasoning. I hope and pray that Holly is not one of those coaches that play upper class players because they are upper class. That is not the case with 5 other top schools. I know that during the last game Massengale scored a boat load of points, but she continues to make stupid turnovers. Holly need to evaluate if she scores as many points as she gives up.

One thing you quickly notice is that from 10 to 12 feet she is deadly accurate with her shot. I can't remember her missing one of those last night.

I think that NiA is the real deal. However, I do not believe she would have gotten to show her talents if it were not for the probations. I think that Holly has to play her more or even start her over Graves, especially if she is capable of close to her point production in the last two games. I fear that Holly is the kind of coach that will play upper class players no matter what. I know that Massengale had a boat load of points last game but made a lot of mistakes. Last year when she had the injury, Carter made far less mistakes. Also during an interview, after the last game, Holly said that Nared is a good ball player but needed some improvements. That is true I am sure, but did anyone see the all star games Nared played in with Asia Wilson? She balled out and was even selected player of the game in one of the contest. Asia must be a quick learner because she starts for South Carolina. We will not even mention our 6'6" player of the year who did a lot of bench warming last year. The other top five teams start freshman, even Geno. If I am a great high school player, I am going to take my talent where I have a chance to play now rather than later. The Lady Vol brand once sold itself but we can not depend on that anymore, we must out coach and out recruit the other top five schools. Did anyone see the list of recruits headed to Louisville? We have two of the top guards in the country but where are the bigs? Why do we still have two available scholarships for the 2015 class? The competition filled all of theirs. We need to right that ship now rather than later.:clapping:

Which freshmen, along with the sophomore PG and PF, junior wing, and senior SG and C did Geno start last year? Maybe said freshman is starting this year, along with the junior PG and PF, senior wing and C, and sophomore SG?

But I do agree with your philosophy that the best player, not the upperclassman (*cough*cough*BURDICK) should start.

BTW, Wilson doesn't appear to be starting for SC anymore. She should totally take her talent elsewhere.

Do you not count assists and steals along with points scored? And did not Massengale, Carter and some others start as freshmen?
