and saban's 43-11 record has been while the sec has been super competetive. the sec definitely wasn't as stacked like it currently is back in the 90's.......which is when fulmer compiled the record you just mentioned.
thing is you want to compare fulmer who inherited a gold mind to saban who started off at a crap mich. st., and then took a less talented LSU team, and Al. team and beat Fulmer
seriously.......saban (and meyer for that matter) is one of the main reasons fulmer isn't here anymore. i don't understand how anyone can make an argument for phil being the better coach when fulmer struggled like he did against saban. a good measuring stick for ut coaches is how well they do against fla and bama.......and fulmer didn't show signs of being competetive with either program at the end of his career at ut.
