A Tuscaloosa judge tossed the civil suit filed against Kristen Saban for a fight she had in 2010 from court when he filed a summary judgment in her favor Wednesday.
The ruling ends a lawsuit that has drawn the state's attention since it was filed in June 2012. In the suit, Saban's sorority sister Sarah Grimes alleged that she was concussed and otherwise injured during a fist fight with Saban in August 2010.
Grimes did not press criminal charges at the time, but filed a civil suit against Saban almost two years after the incident, just before the statute of limitations on her civil claim would have expired. In the lawsuit, she blamed Saban for costing her more than $16,000 in bills for medical treatment and therapy.
