Nico’s short time in the game

Did anyone else happen to notice what the announcer said when Nicole came in? He was like the true freshman that was the number for ranked prostyle passer in the nation coming out of high school. Lol. I was like WTF! In my opinion, he was the no2 overall player in the nation. And even that is total BS. Multiple recruiting analyst acknowledge if not for the last name of the kid in front of him, he would have been the undisputed number one player in the country.

Anyway, even though it was a small sample size, I was incredibly impressed. I’ve come to believe the single most important skill a recruit can possess is pocket awareness and the ability to make a rush or miss. Maybe that’s just because I’m a Tennessee fan and for years we lacked anyone that possessed that talent. But nowadays that is the first thing I look for in a prospect. And in Nico‘s short time he made two fantastic escapes when guys were running free right down the middle.

Wasn't saying that you did. Just saying that it was possible to have high hopes for HB coming in and still be able to accept the reality that he-and I'm going to be kind here-is just not very good.

Quite frankly with the QB situation we had at the time-we coulda put a turd on a stick under center and I would have given it a chance

You never know. Tony Robinson was a stick but could play the game. It took a pretty cheap shot low to take him out.

I'm excited for this year but the nerves aren't really too bad because we know what we have in Joe. This time next year knowing we're rolling with Nico is going to be a different kind of nerves. I so badly want him to live up to the hype and dream of him exceeding it. I really believe this kid is special. Like top 3 draft pick special.

That article the KNS ran about Milton said Nico stops by Joe’s apartment after nearly every practice. The culture of peer mentorship this staff and generation of players have built is very impressive.

I would have liked for Nico to have been given more chances to pass, when he was in there. No matter what the score is, he needs the reps and and given a chance to pass more. If I'm not mistaken he only passed on third down.

I found myself holding my breath, because of his thin frame. Hopefully, he can gain weight without losing anything on the field.

Manning is 3rd string at Texas. He didn't get time yesterday. Tbh manning may be great but I didn't think he deserved number 1.
