Nico “Tampering” - told you so

Stockton was pedestrian and I am not sure where you are getting that FCS receiver room.
Stockton was indeed much better than pedestrian. And compared to prior years, this years UGA receiver room is very FCS. With a proper UGA receiver room, he stood very good chance of winning the ND game with his performance. He was certainly the catalyst behind GA beating TX in the SEC. Considering Beck only captained 3 points before the injury. Stockton was a record producing HS QB who has been behind Bennett and Beck and had very limited playing time thus far, and still looked far more developed and capable than Nico who easily has 4 times hte field experience.

2024 stats 45/64. 440 yds. 70% completion. 130 QBR, Not pedestrian. 234 yds passing, 1 TD, and 134 rating in the ND game.

Contracts are the way to fix this but schools refuse to go that route b/c they want to keep all the revenue for themselves.
I see this mentioned a lot, but in my mind it is much more simple. Just put add back in the academic requirements for playing a sport, and then put some rules in about your credits take 1 full year before they fully transfer. This would do a few things. 1. It would solve the athletic problem and reinstitute the transfer and sit out rule. 2. It would actually help schools like Michigan for example that don't accept senior transfers because then you would be actually getting your degree from the a school you took more than a year of classes from. Focus back on the Student part of Student Athlete and get the minor league portion out of here and most of this would be solved.

You mean for ALL transfers of ALL students credits would take a year to transfer? The NCAA has been continuously sued, often by schools who want open transfers (including UT) about treating athletes different than regular students when it comes to scholarships and transfers.

The minute at the end of the 2nd and the beginning of the 3rd beat Georgia.

OP - I believe you and have serious doubts that Nico finishes his collegiate career here. I hope that I am wrong. Regardless, its my opinion that the pendulum has swung too far to the other side, giving players way too much control. This NIL stuff and transfer portal needs parameters very soon.
You were correct.

Source that knows the what’s happening in the athletic departments of Bama, Miami, Georgia, and Oregon. A source that had information disclosed by all of those programs that is punishable by the NCAA. And this source that has all those programs trust is loose lipped enough to share? Yeah you’re FOS. Not kind of or a little but completely FOS.
I’m laughing at this response to my original post three months later.

The big question is who initiated the contact?

If schools are testing the responsiveness of Nico, that's something we're probably doing with players also and likely how it works these days.

If Nico is testing the waters...... we have a problem that's not going to end well.
You nailed it, my friend.

Seriously? That simply isn't the world we live in. Nico has all the leverage. It's no different than a skilled engineer, lawyer, accountant, etc. with great client relationships. People are going to try to pull them away, and they are going to listen because it's best for them and their family to listen. That doesn't mean they want to leave or that they aren't committed to their current employer/partners. It just means they expect their current employer to keep up with market demands when it comes to compensation, and they are going make sure that happens.

I have no idea who you even are. If you like the OP make statements claiming a bunch of BS that damages the program and impeaches the character of the kids in the program then you’re going to get some grief especially if you have no official sourcing to back it up.

Brent Hubbs and Austin Price both have said Nico never requested transfer paperwork or anything like that. If Nico was so anxious to move why didn’t he test the open market? Nico didn’t shop himself out or he would be gone right now. Still some people want to go on a witch hunt for the players loyal to the program and tear them down on social media.
The wheels on the bus go round and round…

I have no doubt somebody around Nico may have been contacted by somebody remotely connected to another collective. But guess what… that happens every day. I got contacted by my competition last week just to see where my head is.

Posting about a hypothetical conversation with some guy about something nobody can prove is just a cry for ecred.
Oops.
