Nico is OUR QB.

IMO, Nico is just a bit off, not by much, but enough. Like 1-1.5' off....be it long, short, high, low, in front...behind. And at times the WRs aren't helping him when it's not off. He tightens things up, they'll be dangerous again.

Hoping the light finally came on for him in the second half. He played much better. Huge shout out to the OL also for finally showing up. They actually played great all game long. Nico had plenty of time to throw in the first half. He just couldn't hit anyone.

Nico settled down in the second half. The long run to set up the one TD was huge and I really felt like after that, the game wasn't too big anymore for him.

I've given him a lot crap as well as the OL. But there couldn't have been a bigger game for them to show up and show out.

Love this defense, they were on the field way too much tonight and still grinned this out.

Good for Will Brooks. Walk on from bammer land. Great to see him get the INT to seal it.

Now, turn this thing around and blow UK off the field in 2 weeks. Let's gooooo

I'm convinced he lost confidence in the offensive line, leading to a mechanics breakdown, leading to inaccurate throws he was making early on every time, leading to a loss of confidence in himself. And confidence means a lot.

Hopefully this is where he turns a corner, along with the OL.

Was anybody happy when Gaston had to come in? Really? When that happened, I had to be listening, but I knew Nico was still the better QB and I was worried. The immediate pick was just what happened, but before the play, I was concerned about it. That’s not to say Gaston couldn’t be a fine QB, as it’s a tough situation in which to be thrown, but to say that Nico’s struggles have been a necessary growing pain.

You're drunk as a skunk and your football IQ is non existant. That game was won today in spite of the play of Nico. Nobody, absolutely nobody, without a dog in the fight would disagree with me on that. WTH is the matter with you. Did you even watch the frickin game?
If you're still a nico hater there's not much can be done for you. We don't win this game without him.

He still has a long way to go. Hopefully it’s just a youth issue.

BUCK FAMA!!!!

Of course he does, he’s started less than ten games, for crying out loud!!!

And think about this. Tennessee just had a first-year, RS freshman QB start
-on the road against Oklahoma
-on the road against Arkansas
-home against Florida
-home against Alabama

Would any sane fan say that 3-1 is bad?

Man! These are the golden ages of Vol athletics. Every team is good to great.

Let’s just enjoy it! And that doesn’t mean every team will win every game. But it does mean that the games matter and will be fun.

Really glad to see him play better in the 2nd half, but it still wasn't that pretty. He has a lot of improving to do. I am in wait and see mode, but encouraged.

As I told a buddy earlier tonight, if Joe Milton was our QB in the second half, we lose.

Period. Kid did a lot of growing up today. Support our QB or get lost. The defense held it down and is the strength but we do not win this game without Nico making two huge throws either.

And oh yeah….

WE DONT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE WHOLE STATE OF ALABAMA
We’re from TENNESSEE

Unfortunately the same for Merklinger or Moore

I think it clicked finally for him about mid way through the third quarter.

Gaston is a serviceable backup at best and that’s all he will ever be. I appreciate that he’s stuck it out here, but being in college football this long and not starting at this level you are what you are.

He’s got to get alot better. The turnovers are killers. He’s missed a lot of open receivers. He’s missed or didn’t see alot of wide open receivers for TDs. Some very poor decision making. We all want him to succeed but let’s not kid ourselves, the defense has kept this team in the games. We need to build this offense around his skill set right now. Hes miles from Hendon Hooker level play.
