The play calling is a direct reflection of the coaches confidence in what they think the QB can effectively do.After sleeping and thinking about it, it is hard to blame Nico. The play calling doesn't expire confidence. Our "scared" and "conservative" play calling doesn't build confidence in our team.
The offensive line (especially the penalties) are killing drives as well and compounding it.

I think he did a solid by saying what he said in the presser. Penalties killed drives and limit opportunities. He also owned not getting the ball up on the last play because the ball slipped he also said he had to do better and have the ball ready to go out. That is leadership. Telling your team that stupid plays get you beat and owning your own mistakes. He didn't throw anyone under the bus while taking it on his own chin and owning he screwed up.Yes so far he has not shown any leadership.
It actually isn't if you know the timing isn't there because the OL can't block longer than 3 seconds. There were times last night Arkansas got pressure with 3 rushers dropping 8. In all fairness to Nico, Voltopia, he was under duress the whole game practically. He did miss some open passes, but he also had people in the backfield nearly every snap.
No, it's really not. It's a fact. Go back and watch it again. And no, the Arkansas kid was not under the same duress or more than Nico. If you think that's the case, then you aren't watching the same game I did. This is overblown. No QB gets clean pockets most of the time. I dare say the Arkansas QB was under duress as much or more than Nico and he was making plays/throws.
A lot of this is on Nico and fans need to quit excusing it. I like the kid and he has shown a lot of potential but he still has a lot of work to do.
