Nico Press release before OSU

Interesting. I think he has to be the most nonchalant player I have ever seen. It’s also interesting that the number one thing he took away from his mentors is to not let the fans bother him with what they’re saying.

He is wise about the last part. We have some knowledgeable fans but we also have some like all bases that are just full of it. GBO

He scares me as an OSU fan. I think he’s QB1 in the whole sport next year and there is a high ceiling for his performance this weekend.

A lot will depend on the protection. Not surprisingly he makes better decisions in the passing and run game when protected. Arkansas game was awful bc our Oline was in shambles that night.

As an athlete you can’t listen to the noise of the fans. He knows he has to trust his teammates and coaches to become the player we all know he can be. Nico is going to be a first round pick book it Dano

Nico might need to run a lot in this game. Planned runs and creative reactionary runs. He also needs to pay close attention to the clock in his head and just throw it away versus take a sack. Can’t have negative yards against this defense.

He played 3. You act like he played 8. He had an easier schedule than most of our quarterbacks the past 20 years.
With an 8 game conference schedule you can only have 4 away games at maximum. So 75% of our conference away games were at night. Also, Nico's first two conference games were away at night.

The schedule looks easier than it was becuase Tennessee took care of business instead of giving conference wins to their opponent like in the past. But again, you can't underestimate playing a night game on the road in the SEC. With all the light shows, hype videos, fireworks, and video board assisted crowd chants during extra long media timeouts, it add up to the difficulty. It's very hard to win in those environments.

If we had gone 0-12 this year, we still would have only played 3 teams with winning conference records and only 3 teams that went 8-4 or better. The schedule was as easy as we could ask for.
