Moments ago on the Pat McAfee show Josh Pate joined the show and shared a rumor about the whole Nico fiasco. According to Pate, there was a call from Danny Lanning in Oregon to CJH tipping him off that Nico's people were shopping him. Kinda cool if true. In this wild west of College Football its nice to think folks still look after on another, even as competitors.

It reads as if OP is hearing about this for the first time via today's interview. It's understandable that people would point out that the Lanning rumor was discussed quite a bit here on Friday.

Appreciate it. Got news about our VOLS? Bring it here. Let the mods combined threads etc as necessary. I honestly avoid the FF for the most part during the offseason, other than Fingers beloved updates from spring and fall practice.

You folks see some VOLS info out there, bring it here. Your thread can always be combined, replaced, deleted etc if it happens to be superfluous. I am all over the content on youtube because I listen while I work and drive etc. The 1st that I heard any mention of the Lanning call was this morning on Pates show FWIW. No mention by Hubbs, AP etc on youtube over the weekend that I have seen.

I am very proud of Coach Hype, again! Also thankful to Lanning if thats true. GO VOLS.

It’s just crappy this late in the offseason for a qb to be jumping ship. Heupel is a pretty good dude and I’m sure he talks to plenty of other coaches. Major coaching is a pretty small circle.

No. There's nothing in the OP's words except the facts of what happened today, and a personal appreciation "if true."

And it is an important estimation of confirmation when someone continues to report that rumor 3 days later. That means no one has found evidence to refute the original reporting. So the post has value because of its timing.

How about moving forward, any NIL CONTRACT is treated like a legal enforceable CONTRACT.

Has anyone heard lawyer talk that might accuse the Oregon coach of "collusion" in his backchannel communication to Heupel?

It will become an issue, I feel sure, before we solve the whole NIL debacle and get players remunerated in a fair manner that preserves the best of college sports.
