Since I moved to the farm this summer I've been non stop. Renovating, taking care of animals etc. Before moving here I was a notorious night owl, would get 4-5 hours sleep and be up until at least 2 or 3 am. Now my days begins at 6 and ends around 11 or 12.
Until the past couple of weeks, I've had 6 goats give birth to 9 babies unexpectedly. We suspected a couple were pregnant but they just keep coming and I have to go out every couple of hours to check on them and bring new mother's into their places in the barns. I'm exhausted but if I go to sleep I'm out. Good news is we only have three females left who haven't given birth, one is a senior, the other a juvenile which leaves one more possible mother I have to check on. When she does give birth I'm going to buy a large bottle of something nice, Woodford Reserve maybe and sleep for a couple of days!
