Night Owls/Insomniacs Thread Part IV

I'm laying here in bed with an electric lantern on. The powers out and it's completely dark in my neighborhood. No streetlights and I cannot sleep. Just lovely....

It's 220am. The power is still out.

I guess I won't be watching TV tonight.

Nintendo it is...

Yeah, I know that feeling. I wish I knew where I put my 3DS for that very reason. It was out in the garage because I dont play it much. They're in the process of getting mine turned back on. It should be around this afternoon. This is the longest it's ever been out. It's been since 5pm yesterday. Thankfully, I was able to go to sleep around 2:30 this morning.Well,I better get get off here before my phone goes dead.lol

Right. They are putting in a new pole here now.

I was sitting in the bathtub, counting my toes
When the radiator broke, water all froze
I got stuck in the ice without my clothes
Naked as the eyes of a clown

They're putting in a new one in my neighborhood later today. I had to go to a motel out towards the airport. That was a hassle, and talk about insomnia. I already deal with that and the uncomfortable beds make it much worse. I'd rather go home and deal with no power than deal with that headache and poor customer service.

That's no fun. Sorry you're still having issues.

One if my neighbors has a home weather station. He said it gusted to 100 mph where we are. You were right when you said that the city/county wasn't ready for this.

Wow,I didn't realize it was that fast. Of course I was in Ming Garden when it happened with my fiancee. It would have had to be a strong wind to cause all that damage. Thankfully, mine just got cut back on. I think after this, they'll be better prepared. Much appreciated for their hard work.

Our neighborhood gave the NC a round of applause when they got ours on yesterday. I hope they get better prepared after this. It was the longest outage of my adult life.

That stuff stinks. I've went about 5 days for an ice storm years ago, and 3 for when hurricane Irma was basically still a cat 1 when it came through Georgia.

We had a blizzard in 98 where we were out for several days. I was a teenager. I actually missed the first day at home because I got stuck at work

Little pitchers have big ears
Don’t stop to count the years
Sweet songs never last too long on broken radios

“God bless this kitchen,” said the knick-knack shelf
“The dinner’s almost ready and go wash yourself”
Jimmy’s growing up, now, and Wanda’s growing old
The time is growing shorter, and the nights are long and cold

Hand me down my walking cane
It’s a sin to tell a lie
Send my mouth way down south
And kiss my a** goodbye

I’ve had years of cramped-up city life
Trapped like a duck in a pen
All I know is it’s a pity life
Can’t be simple again
