The Washington helmets should have a picture of Andy Jackson raping a Sioux lady while thrusting an infected smallpox blanket in her kid's face. Other than that the Nike unis are awesome.

You know how these conversations go with the Washington Area Football Team?

Native Americans: Your mascot is offensive and hurtful to us.
Football team: We're not trying to hurt you; we're trying to honor you.
Native Americans: We're not honored. We're offended.
Football team: Shut up.

Imagine if there were an NFL team called the Detroit Darkies. How do you think that would fly?

thats funny cause there is a bunch at mine also when i have a family reunion down south. and were all redskin fans, and we dont have a problem with it.

I have no problem with your basic, generic Indian team names. Braves, Seminoles, Illini, whatever. The NCAA went overboard with its PC shat about it. But that doesn't mean that we should ignore the egregious cases. "Redskins" is basically the same thing as having a team called the "San Francisco Slanteyes," and the Cleveland Indians' mascot is basically this guy:

The Atlanta Braves purged this guy 20 years ago. And even then, he was a pale shadow of Chief Wahoo or actually calling the damn team by somebody's skin color.

I am not a particularly PC person at all. It just baffles me that somebody's career can be ended in modern America by the mere accusation of racism, and yet we have a major sports team named the Washington Coons. I don't get it.

not all native americans have a problem with the redskins. its all in how butt hurt and politcal you wanna be about it. would you want the braves to change their name? some native americans want all the team names changed. how would you feel about that?
