The only problem with the OP's theory that NF is a better choice is she had most of her success early on with LSU and has dropped off instead of getting better. KJH seems to be getting better with time and is obviously doing more with less.

I seriously think Niki is a great experience coach..All she needs is top 2 recruits she's good to go.

Nikki started with UCLA and the longer she stayed the worse they became. The same has happened at LSU. Harper on the other hand took two losing programs, Western North Carolina and Missouri State with losing records and developed them into winning teams...Harper upset three teams to get to the Sweet 16...Fargas and LSU did not even make the NCAAA tournament.

Fulmer is not going to fire Holly without a clear upgrade. I know the mantra on this board is that anyone with a pulse would be better than Holly but objective records matter.

Fulmer is not going to hire a coach whose win % is significantly below Holly's.

Fargas is no go.

Same for Harper. She is trending in the right direction now but still not enough on her resume to constitute a big time hire. That is what this program needs ride now.

I agree with this. Unfortunately I think Nikki has tarnished her legacy over the last many years with mixed results at LSU. I think Nikki should've been the original hire over Holly.

Many forget that she helped to land the Parker class that led to two straight titles before she left for UCLA. The UT program has not been the same since her departure. I believe after that Warlick took over the recruiting and the competitive edge went downhill. I don't think we can totally blame the 1st round loss the following season on freshmen. I think it was the soft mentality of those freshmen.

Ageed the poster communicated fake news. Nikki left UCLA while they were still rising and had a good recruiting class coming in. Many questioned why she would leave when she was having success. LSU would not have hired a losing coach. She wanted to come back East.

In year 15 she finally gets to a Sweet 16. Fargas has two already in 11 years. Way more tourneys. Better success at large schools. She is better.

Before this year the prior two season 19 and 20 wins. KH 21 and 16.

Harper is a good mid major coach who gets a program better after few seasons. That is all. NF is a better big program big game coach and recruiter. All the numbers back that up.

Fargas has less years and more success. Period.

No need to lie to make your argument. She has had a downturn at LSU but still made the tourney every year except this year and one other on 8 years. She got UCLA good and got better every single year.

This is a dumb take. I have no clue how many games Missouri State as they are right now would win, but they would win a few because they're are some pretty bad teams in The SEC. If Missouri State was in the SEC then Harper would be able to recruit better players than she can right now. She could recruit even better if she coached UT. I'm not saying she should be the next coach of The Lady Vols but she has done a really good job of coaching to take a team of mostly underclassmen at the mid major level to a conference tournament championship and to the sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament.
