NIL Spending estimates for each team - wow on TN

I wonder does Tennessee have that one "big name" donor that feeds the NIL?

For example, it's been well reported Mathew McConaughey gives tons to Texas. Mark Cuban spends lots at Indiana and there are others.

Tennessee's used to be Jimmy Haslam, no?

Sure but id bet the overwhelming majority of the funds are coming from boosters
If every person that attended a game donated 25 bucks a month that would end up being 30M annually just for football. If that list is accurate I’d say that’s the reason why Danny White is going to start the talent tax

Our initial impression was that these estimates are high. But upon review we saw that the goal of the University of Tennessee collective is $ 25 million and that they believe this goal is “absolutely attainable”. The head football coach at Ohio State recently stated they need $ 13 million in NIL money just to “maintain” their football roster. Using the 66% Power 5 average of NIL money allocated to Football, this translates into just under $ 20 million in NIL dollars to all Ohio State sports – very close to the estimate presented in this table. Additional spot checking revealed credible reports of Auburn raising over $ 13 million and Ole Miss raising over $ 10 million in NIL Collective money – both figures are somewhat higher the estimates contained in this table.

None of these NIL estimates like this are anything more than poor guesses. You can't compile a list like this. Even teams who are members of the 'haves' don't want to disclose how big their budgets are, because it might work against them in negotiations. It's comical how bad of a guess this even is. I could do a better job and I have nothing but pattern recognition to help.

Show your donation records, then we will show ours. Stop speaking for others, without showing that you have contributed Checkerboard or above. UT is blessed to have a full stadium with the economy. It's not the average fans job to finance the football team brother.

This is an important set of data. I live in Houston and assure you that Texas and TX A&M will buy everything they can for good football teams. There are no limits.

Amen.

The collective must not be the sole source of NIL contracts. Many consider Oregon to have the deepest pockets in college sports and their recruiting class would give support to that opinion

I am sorry but did you say Matthew McConaughey? He may be very generous but I would be surprised if he is a top 10 donor for Texas. He is super wealthy no doubt but not Texas wealthy.

Well if a 247 analyst is putting it out there (and I dont think he came up with it himself), then even if it is a "poor guess" you had better believe that recruits are seeing it and doing some guessing on their own. I dont see Spire coming in and calling BS on it.

As a Virginia grad, I can assure you that there’s no chance in hell that UVA is spending more on their roster than UT, Oregon, FSU, or Auburn.
Lived a county over in Nelson, however I'm a major UVA hater here and can confirm. Can't even fill half their stadium in Football (almost married a cheerleader there) total joke of a program. That new coach guy came in 2022 and my gf asked if I wanted to meet him personally and march with the band at the Pavillion near downtown. I said I'm ok lol. Made me say hi anyways. Just say "hey" shook hands and walked away, dude was confused, never even learned his name. Went on to watch like a 1 point win against Richmond and Old Dominion. I like their theme song because i just sing "We come from old Virginia where this whole team is gay"

You could head a mouse squeak on 3rd downs. The students are too cool. So id spin a towel around drunk screaming on 3rd down yelling "this is fuggin football make some noise WOOO" Most boring games of my life. It was hot and I went to their end zone grass to lay down and sleep shirtless. I saw half a dozen fans reading books. It was funny because there was so few fans i went back to watch the game and always could find myself. The campus was way more fun than the sports. Who gives a flying **** about UVA sports

How in the heck can we be so low?

15th overall and frikken 8th in the SEC?!!?! 🤬 I mean, granted, we are getting a LOT for what we are spending but that does not bode well for the future if we cant keep in the top 5ish overall.

The list is complete BS. It’s estimates based on last known booster donations.

Schools like Texas, Texas AM, Oregon, Miami are all up there. Tennessee also if anyone has forgotten made the first big NIL deal; a deal so huge that the NCAA had to step in to investigate it.

Because Spyre isn't calling BS on some rando 247 guy's tweet of fake NIL rankings you think that somehow legitimizes them? I'm sorry but I'm not at all following your logic.

Oh FFS if you spent more than fifteen seconds on this you would see the analyst actually did pull this bs out of his arse.
