NIL Spending estimates for each team - wow on TN

Think it is good that people underestimate our NIL. Will help us in negotiations. Think the leak of Nico’s contract made players and agents think we were flushed with cash and probably made our collective’s job more difficult.

I want everyone else to donate as much money as they can so I can enjoy watching a winning team.

The reason for Ellison's money going to Michigan is his young wife/gf. And I must say at 80yo, Larry has had the benefit of some extremely good cosmetic surgery and it looks like a steroid or two.

No doubt Ellison looks fantastic for 80yo

The state wasted over $2bil to build the Titans a new stadium. Imagine how half of that could have been used to buy players for the Vols.
I can't imagine at all how any of that tax revenue could help Spyre out, or why even a penny of it would go there.

I am sorry but did you say Matthew McConaughey? He may be very generous but I would be surprised if he is a top 10 donor for Texas. He is super wealthy no doubt but not Texas wealthy.
Agreed. He's not a top donor over there at all. Big "in name only".

How in the heck can we be so low?

15th overall and frikken 8th in the SEC?!!?! 🤬 I mean, granted, we are getting a LOT for what we are spending but that does not bode well for the future if we cant keep in the top 5ish overall.

It's simple. The coaching makes the difference. Think about that the next time someone complains about his salary.

Show your donation records, then we will show ours. Stop speaking for others, without showing that you have contributed Checkerboard or above. UT is blessed to have a full stadium with the economy. It's not the average fans job to finance the football team brother.
Then those fans have no right to complain when we miss on a recruit or boo when we throw a screen on third and long because we don’t have receivers that can consistently get open

Don’t shoot the messenger here. That’s why I was so surprised to see these numbers since they seemed so low. My thoughts were How could we be spending $8m on Nico and everyone saying we are doing well in NIL and these be true?

Thats why I wanted guys with more knowledge on it than I to refute it.
That 8M is over the entirety of his college career

Can’t be accurate. Think about #1 Oregon at 19th spot.

Everyone saying they can’t be out bought with Phil Knight…

It’s definitely the wild Wild West but UT seems to be holding up in the recruiting department pretty well.
That list is fishy. No way that's right.

Dang Larry, you don’t have to put a ring on it.

No way they can begin to have accurate numbers.
Yep. Spyre doesn’t disclose that. People should know by the details that leaked on Nico’s NIL how competitive TN is in the space. Miami, Texas, Oregon, those are three teams you’re not going to outspend if they want someone, everyone else were competitive with. A lot of other programs have pointed out Spyre as being one of the best ran NIL organizations.

I can only say we have won twice this year, why not make it 4 times

1 NCAA lawsuit
2 NCAA National Championship

To Come?
3 NCAA National Football Championship
4 NCAA National Basketball Championship

Would that not be nice. We are in position to do it with the players to do it, Just do it.

Having less than 5k members in the Volunteer Club when 100k fans show up to watch the games every Saturday doesn’t help that goal any
You’re right. We should all empty our bank accounts to buy 18 year old football players instead of supporting our families and IRAs.

Always remember there are a lot of ppl just taking a stab at putting something together for click $$s. Its alright if your curiosity wants to take a look but don't believe this junk bad info and a guess at that.

Out of curiosity, how would you even begin to know this? I don‘t know either way, but I don’t have these folks financial info that you might have.
I don’t have any direct info but I have an understanding of the difference between and employee and an owner. An actor is an employee, just like a football star. They may make 10s of millions a year and may do it for 20 plus years ( in the case of a successful actor like Matthew) and they may have very lucrative side hustles like auto company endorsements and shoe deals. But that is nothing compared to generational wealth of the families that own large corporations. Just a guess but a safe one to assume that Matthew is not a billionaire and I would be surprised if he is worth more than150 million but I do not know for sure and have not even done a Google search. Cohen, owner of the Mets is worth around 25 billion and he is not even in the top 20 wealthiest Americans. I again could do a search but I am fairly sure that even if Matthew was worth 200 million he would not be one of the 300 wealthiest Texans. But I don’t know for a fact and am too lazy to research.

If you seriously think that Tennessee is spending less than Virginia and Oregon is spending less than UK, you need to hand your white cloak to Radagast or someone, because boy, you ain’t too bright.

I can’t believe I live in a world where people are skeptical of newspapers, but will take what some rando on Twitter says as gospel.
Like Radagast would know what to do with it!

The internets say Matthew is worth 160 million. It also says there are 76 billionaires in Texas ( surely not all Texas fans but also not all Texas fans live in Texas). Texas is in trouble if he is considered one of their large donors. Edit. There are 650,216 millionaires in Texas

i have a customer who is a business owner in knoxville, who spyre had discussions with to try to get donations. he told me over a year ago that in one of their presentation to him, it was said that their overall spending was anticipated to be between $11 and 13 million annually, with where they were at that time, and they thought that would be upper-mid tier to lower-top tier of the SEC. He said they told him that could change a little depending on how the womens program did with their dedicated NIL group. Spyre said they were trying for a goal of $25-30 million, but they had not reached that yet. Now, maybe spending is up since we talked, but what he says they told him over a year ago lines up with what that report says pretty close.

Because the list is crap

Exactly. All the SEC teams that are serious about their rosters and want to compete are likely $20MM and up. We have the 10th ranked HS class and are still 6th in the SEC with Flarda right behind us. No way those 7 teams at a minimum keep that talent with under $20MM these days. Its the wild west out here.

I like how the list has every school down to the single dollar, no rounding off at all.

Would love to know the source for all this as these are all private transactions.
