No good excuse

I'd be willing to bet that at least 8 players from Kiffin's current roster go on to play in the NFL. The affect of the sanctions haven't even kicked in yet. Their defense sucks because their coaching sucks.

I'd second this bet. USC has ridiculous talent, but they have almost zero depth.

I thought the playcalling against Oregon was average at best. It is the only SC game I've watched start to finish this year.

they scored 32 points. . .

edit: kiffin's adjustments are excellent. he isn't one of these OCs that sticks to teh gameplan even if things aren't working.

They should have gone down field more, and they got way to cute in the second quarter. I think Lane is a good offensive coordinator. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if he was still in Knoxville. In many ways we are saying the same thing. I wonder if he is flexible enough to learn from his mistakes and become a good head coach.

Eventually, I think he is going to have to surrender playcalling duties to accomplish that.

Due in large part to special teams and mistakes on Oregon's part.

Kiffin's play calling was extremely questionable. Toss sweeps on third down, not once, but twice?

They have depth. Kiffin simply refuses to play his young talent. There's no way teams like TCU, BSU, Oregon, Stanford, Washington, etc, have more depth than SC.

6 of whom are on the offense. the 2 on defense aren't upper classmen. and once again did carroll's coaching suck too?

So you are saying that USC will not have any players drafted from their defense in the upcoming NFL draft?

hahahaha. I am glad I have never relied on you as a Pac 10 expert.

Wilcox and the D staff might not have much to work with, but the play calling is horrendous and the fundamentals are garbage.

Don't blame droski, he's been at the dispensary getting free doobies from the Giants winning.

I'd expect a team literally loaded with NFL talent according to you guys would do a little better than minnesota.

Florida's loaded with NFL talent. They've lost 3 games. Why? Youth and injuries in part, but primarily coaching deficiencies.

Oklahoma lost 5 games last season. Three players from their program were drafted within the first 10 picks.

LSU has largely underachieved since winning the national title. They continued on spitting out NFL talent.

etc

I'm talking about number of players drafted, not performance.

this same d sucked last year (yet lost 3 guys to the nfl) with a head coach who you'd guys cut your left nut off to get. arguing kiffin is the problem is a bit silly. and cal got shut down by the 118th ranked defense in the country last week. i think we can safetely assume shutting down cal didn't mean much.

I'd give my left nut for him to come on as OC. As head coach I'm fine with him staying right where he is.

Who knows what the future holds, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he turns out being a sactionary stand-in to lie, cheat, and steal talent for the next head coach.

Pete Carrol doesn't know crap about offense.
