Watched this yesterday. It actually got embarrassing the way we man handled them

It was embarrassing for the Kitty Cats but it was very entertaining to watch. Especially when Hall dunked on Pothyress and Armani Moore pushed Goodwin to the floor at the end. Lol

Nah, never. What was embarrassing was their fans whining and crying about how we didn't use our bench and ran up the score on them, but when you bring up the 104-44 game they won, they say it is part of it.

Never heard that one.
It's usually 'we had to play the officials too'.

That too. After it happened I browsed around one of their forums, and they were complaining, saying things like we have no class for that and "hopefully Cal will beat you by 50." Really sad.

Running up the score on a team with at least 4 NBA talent level players? Poor Kentucky. :(

Weird that people are shocked by this. It was announced last year. It just so happened that Kentucky was one of the teams we played twice last year. This isn't new.

With the conference expansion, this was inevitable unfortunately. They'll have to come to our place sometime too. However, it's funny that it happens in a year after UT pounded Ky by 30 and will have one of its better teams in awhile, but the SEC sees fit to have Ky play one of the better SEC teams at home instead of on the road. Gotta protect the cash cow of the SEC.

Lol, are you serious?

Next you'll say that Cal brokered the deal because he's skeered of playing in TBA.

I don't think Cal is scared of playing anyone anywhere. That wasn't the point. However, if you don't think the SEC protects its own to a degree, you're foolish.

UT supposedly will get a home and away this year with:

Fla, A & M, Miss St, Vandy and Mizzou. We played Ole Miss and Bama twice last year from the old West, but we only played Fla once. This year we get Miss St which should be two automatic W's.

Conference expansion is inevitable, but a lot of people probably don't even know that Ky is not an automatic home and away anymore. The only team that is guaranteed that for UT is Vandy. I think this year will be the first time since 1952 that UT-Ky haven't played twice in the regular season. Absurd.

I've been saying since the end of last year that there was 0% chance that the TN / KY would be playing in TBA this year after the 30 pt beatdown. I would have placed any bet possible that the 50/50 chance would end up in Rupp this year.

It's those that haven't paid attention that are up in arms right now, as has been said this was inevitable, last year just happened to work out.

Does it suck, absolutely. Let me play devils advocate for a minute though, the positive spin on this is that we will play them only once, and at their place. When it comes to RPI that game will be a no lose game for us....you win and you're talking a HUGE win on the road. Lose, and your RPI probably doesn't suffer at all and it's hardly unexpected.

The way our schedule appears so far it's set up very nicely for Tennessee, and in a year that couldn't be much more important. From the way it appears I see 23-25 wins regular season being very possible which would likeky have us ranked all season, and on our way to a 6 seed or better in the dance...that would be great!

Two years ago, I did a breakdown of every team's Thu night-Sat night schedule. Every team had to play a Thu-Sat night game at least once (Vandy had to do it three times which was absurd). Do you know who was the only team that didn't have to do a 2 day turnaround? Oh yes, Ky. They got a Thu-Sun tilt. That is when Stallings complained to the press about it. I don't agree with much of what he has to say, but he was spot on in that regard. Ky got the most favorable SEC schedule of everyone that year.

I can see TN going undefeated at home depending on where the FL game is positioned in the schedule. Play them late in the season, then I really like our chances. Our away schedule is brutal and I expect us to be around 500 with the teams we have to play.

Even though it's at Rupp, I still think we'll win with the experience our team has. Remember, Kentucky is still going to be very young with the new set of freshman coming in so we have a realistic chance of winning this game.
