No More Defending Holly Warlick !

That's so B.S. It's not about replacing Pat but winning with all the talent she has had. She can not coach PERIOD. She was on staff because she played for Pat. If she thought she was a good coach she would have applied for another job a long time ago. Just my opinion.

Only part of your post I disagree with is the last part, it's not just your opinion, what you posted were facts

What the writer should have done was compared the W/L of the first 3 years of CHW (81%) to the last 4 years (65%). I think recruiting level stayed the same but what stands out is the distance from Pat Summitt's teams.

The title of the article is the exact opposite of what's in the article.

In the article he talks about how, compared to other coaches, she has done a good job.

Article seemed too positive for the poop show from the last few years. Program is in a gradual decline. I wish some media people would point that out.

Something must be wrong with this article. Looks like someone made little editing because the title is far from the article.

This is the key part of the article : Phillip Fulmer has a very tough decision to make in the next few weeks. Does he give Holly another season to right the ship? Or does he pull the trigger and make a change? Considering the fact that he extended her contract last fall, it is unlikely he will make a change right now. That could leave it up to Holly to make that decision,

I think she will stay due to the players coming back and the recruiting classes coming in.
If she hasn't right the ship in all these years. (i think it's about 7 years) What makes Phil think she will next season?

I agree with the article. I think she will get to coach out the remainder of this contract and if things don’t improve she will be forced out.

The first 3 years she had Pat's players, recruited by Pat.

I'm gonna preface this by saying that I think Holly is an absolutely horrible coach. She's inept, and has no business running this team.

But...it's Phil Fulmer's job to evaluate her, and if he decides that what she's doing is good enough for him, then it's a bit unfair to blame Holly for not quitting. If it's good enough for Phil, then Holly has no reason to feel bad. If Phil wants her gone, but is too much of a coward to pull the trigger himself, then he needs to grow a pair and do his job...not expect Holly to relieve him of his responsibility.
We have to disagree to some extent. Yes it is to the point Fulmer should fire her. However, Holly should see she needs to go like about 95% of the fan base. Holly should show some CHARACTER and resign realizing she simply cannot do the job.

Whether Fulmer "grows a pair" or not has nothing to do with Holly's character.

Of course this is just my opinion, like most, I don’t have any inside knowledge, but I think this is a done deal. I don’t think these sportswriters would go out and write these articles if they didn’t have some knowledge of what is going on. UT is god and I don’t think they would go against the university or a coach if they didn’t already know. They don’t want to make them angry.

If Holly is given another year to turn it around, she needs to grab her staff and spend every moment she can tied to Coach Barnes. She needs to grab film of his practices and see if she can pick up some teaching points such as the proper way to set a screen. Heck, I've seen Kasi and C. Greene set a pick on nothing but air. But I believe Holly is too arrogant to look to anyone for help.

Speaking of Holly and her lack of coaching, who was the last WBCA All American first or second team for the Lady Vols?

Holly sucks. I don't like her. I don't care that she played before. That fact shouldn't keep getting her leash extended, extended, extended. If she was any good as a coach, some other team would have came after her when she was an assistant. Remember, this isn't the men's side, coaches with ability are fewer on the women's side. Her so called recruiting success only came after she hired Sharrona. Promote her if recruiting rankings matters more than coaching ability. Holly can't coach and Sharrona can recruit. If you want coaching, proven, go pay for it. Simple enough. Until then, an idiot keeps doing the same thing expecting different results. Until Holly is gone, Tennessee, Fulmer, etc, are the idiots.

And of course Holly has never to my knowledge sought help.... Look at the way Kim Mulkey's team moves the ball around on offense.... why doesn't Holly go to school on some team like that.... Nope she is too good for that.... she deserves to live with every piece of the wreckage when the whole thing crashes on her

He may not want to fire her but it’s certainly not bc of gender. Women get fired everyday, especially in colliegate athletics.

Also, like so many other "jounalists" covering UT sports, feels he has the place to protect his side income from the Vol Network. The symbiotic relationship btw these guys and UTAD is sickening, and as pointed out above, this is a clickbait headline for yet another soft-peddlled CHW all apology. Useless.

Yesterday former Sen. Birch Bayh, the father of Title IX and a true lion of the senate, passed away. So in his honor, and with full knowledge it will do zero good with Alternative Facts Nation, I'll take one more swing at this:

Title IX has NOTHING to do with the ability to fire a female employee. Of course this is getting conflated into one dumbass bundle that assumes all minorities currently enjoying any kind of protected status are just waiting for an opportunity to further cash in with a frivolous lawsuit.

Hopefully UT's stable of highly payed lawyers have cleared this up for the AD and his decision will not be constrained by this particular strain of dumbassery.

UT just started a chancellor search, will have to start a president search after that, is still paying a hefty buyout for another non-HC, just dumped unprecedented amounts into upstaffing football and is in the midst of multimillion-dollar facility upgrades for women's sports. The last thing Fulmer wants is to replace Holly Warlick this year. Dealing with another high-profile coaching search, paying another buyout and having to double or triple her salary to hire an elite replacement is more than UT wants to take on right now. If Holly doesn't want to retire, she's back.

Holly Warlick would have been a good subject of a Holiday Inn Express commercial. Phil Fulmer yelling at a women after the LadyVols beat Kentucky "You're not Holly Warlick!" and the woman answering "No,but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night":D
