I have second hand knowledge that a local recruit has already said that more than one school has contacted him and said why would you be firmly committed if you don't even know who your offensive coordinator will be, he is firm and not going anywhere and is an '18 recruit. Still kind of interesting how quickly other programs load the ammo...I am sure we do it as well.

Yeah we are going into the season without an OC. Really if you are saying that to an '18 recruit you are a moran.

Coaching changes happen all the time. If this is all they have to negative recruit us then I'll call that a win. We will have an OC before NSD and probably within a couple of weeks. Nothing to see here.

Gee, I wonder which 2018 commit you could be referring to, coffeevol? :)

In other words, you have a connection to Alontae Taylor.

So this person is trying to convince the 2018 recruit we will not have an OC in the year 2018 when he is a freshman? I don't think Butch will wait that long, jmo, tifwiw

All of this connected to one problem- a clueless administration. An inability to not hire a new ad in timely way- not being able to be proactive in fixing/replacing a mediocre coaching staff. BR is saying Helfrich is out. Shocking! What elite coach is coming to a school with no ad, and a coach who WILL be fired next year.

To be expected. I'm sure they are managing the message well. They do this as well as anyone.

I wonder if the larger question is what coach would come to a university where the fan based is so crazy as to be ungrateful for back to back nine win seasons. I know all the responses (we are Alabama's equal and would win every year with a good staff, this team should have won the East and gone to the Sugar Bowl, etc.) But you would have to consider whether you'd want to come to a place where nine wins in the toughest conference in America is considered a disaster.

Have to agree. I can't help but to think some of UT's 'fans' are our own worst enemy. Majors had it correct years ago.
