No SEC POSTSEASON AWARDS

These type of votes are alway political unless there's a clear winner, but seems to me that CBP did the most relative to pre-season expectations and talent level. LSU was clearly the favorite in the west and won the overall conference because the Vols manhandled UF twice. LSU doesn't win the conference if they are in the eastern half, no doubt about it.

As for the player of the year, no doubt in my mind that Ronnie Brewer from Arkansas should have won that. Davis needs considerable ability around him to do his thing, but Brewer generates his own numbers while making his team demonstrably better with his non-scoring contributions (especially his defense and versatility).

I can see why they gave it to Brady, but it still sucks. Tyrus Thomas was also picked as freshman of the year and defensive player of the year.

I think that Brady was just riding the talent this year. My only question would be....if you have the coach, player, freshman and defensive player of the year, why do you have seven losses?

Oh what a great question. They lost to Northern Iowa and Houston. Give me a break.

I don't care if they are SEC awards. They should look at their overall performance. IT IS BS

After Thomas went down, we saw what kind of coach that Brady is. He barely beat SC and Ole Miss. Like I said, he's been riding the talent all year....that's all.

Congrats to him though. This might help us in the tournament.

Pearl said himself a couple of days ago that he voted for Davis, and that he would have no problem with Brady being COY as he was the coach of the season's champion. Classy talk from pearl, and I know where he's coming from.

BUT IT STILL SUCKS!!!

Northern Iowa got beat by Indiana State. Indiana State was 4-14 in the Missouri Valley Conference!

GREAT JOB COACH

LSU beat UT this year, so I'm not really gonna complain about that. I think I read somwhere that the coach of the conference winning team has won COY the last 6 or 7 years at least. Did Bruce deserve it? Sure he did, we all know that, but I don't personally need an award to notice the job he's done in Knoxville. He's had plenty of national recognition this season. SEC COY would've been nice, and so would NCOY, but we know where that's going. Like Owb said, maybe Bruce and the boys will use this as added motivation.

I'm sure that Pearl will use this as motivation going into the SEC tournament.

I am sure that Brady deserved it just as much as Bruce. I just don't agree. This team made a complete change from last year and it was mainly from Coaching. He was the Coach of the Year in the SEC.

If it wasn't for Roy Williams, I really think Bruce would win the NCOY. How odd would that be, didn't win the COY in conference, but did nationally?

Losing to Bama, Arkansas and Kentucky at the end of the season really hurt his chances. Sad but true.

Lofton was a unanimous first-team selection and CJ made 2nd team. So there were some awards.

Whoa there, kemosabe. Manhandled? I would hardly call either of those wins manhandling at all. Very close games and came down to the last minute of play.

Not a manhandling, but a sweep, none the less.

It's tough to argue Davis winning POY, but Pearl not winning COY is a little more baffling.

Oh well, it's just someone else's opinion, anyway.
