No SEC Team in their league

From what i have seen of USC, I really believe that we at Bama could beat them, UT could (look at your performance the second half of the LSU game... gawd!), and definately GA. FL and AU would hang in there as well.

Now wouldn't it be lovely if we could all rally behind the team that ends up at the top of the SEC? LOL Nope. Boring. If TN were undefeated and BAMA was carrying a pair of "L's", I would still want to knock TN offa dat dere high horsie! hehe

But that's the SEC. Best teams in the land, and we claw each other all season. Every so often, one of us manages to survive and deliver a butt whooping to the poor guys believing all that BCS crap.

BTW, Doesn't the SEC represent the most bowl appearences as well? I know BAMA has the most for a team, but I think the SEC as a whole has the most "shows" and wins? Please advise.

Notre Dame lost to Michigan State a middle of the road team in the Big 10.

USC had to come from behind (just like LSU) to beat Arizona State.

The SEC currently has 2 teams in the top 5, 3 teams in the top 10, and 6 teams in the top 25.

Tennessee was leading Notre Dame last season until the starting quarterback was injured.

Every year that the SEC is distrespected when it comes to the national title game, the SEC usually comes out on top. LSU over Oklahoma, Tennessee over Florida State, Florida over Florida State, Alabama over Miami. Matter of fact, you have to go back to 2000 to find a loss in the BCS by an SEC team. The SEC is 7-3 all-time in BCS bowl games.

you know in watching USC the last few weeks Ive wondered if they dont purposely govenor down their offense to see how hard it is to counter what the other team is doing...then make adjustments during halftime practicing for Notre Dame and /or bowl games to come

After watching USC and Notre Dame, I know that those are two big league teams and there is no SEC school out there that can hang with those guys. The SEC is as strong as the Big 10, PAC 10, and ACC but all those conferences have at least one team that will spank the SEC's finest. It's pretty sad when an overrated, easy schedule Georgia team and an overperforming Vanderbilt were basically competing for the East lead tonight. Just like FSU, GA will be exposed at some point. I will say though that both GA's and Vandy's coaches are getting more out of their players than anyone else in the East including teams with better overall talent....like Tennessee!

No one can hang w/ USC...but ND is a different story...

Do you mean that ND hung with USC so they are a different story? Or....did you mean that other teams can hang with ND but not USC? OR.....Did you mean both? :D

First of all let me say that I can see your side of the story from watching their game on saturday. While it was an exciting game to watch neither one of their teams play defense or depth at defense. Have either of thier teams played someone who had a decent defense? And the answer is NO. Oh and Im glad you think UGA is overrated because what does that make your team?

Myself and U-T mentioned it before the season, that the Vols and the Dawgs would be reversing rolls this season.

In 2004, UGA was the odds-on favorite to take the east and play in the SEC title game while Tenn was supposed to be rebuilding. Suprise suprise, we come around and prove to be (for the most part) the real deal and take the East while sending Richt and his boys packing. This year, Tennessee was the odds-on favorite to take the East and Richt was supposed to be rebuilding but after our loss to Florida, Georgia showed up and took control of the East. Strange times.

As for USC... I think they were far better last year than this year. The 2004 Trojans are among the most talented teams in any single season in the history of college football. This year, the defense is down but still playing alright. Could they make it through the SEC undefeated? I think so. Sure, their defense isn't so hot but neither is offensive play in the SEC this season. I do believe, however that there is enough parity within the Pac-10 to see USC fall this regular season. Specifically, at the hands of their cross-town rivals, UCLA. Cal Could also take Pete Carroll's boys on a good day.
