I'm not sure who you hang out with socially but I can assure you your figure of 99% is way off.

The fact that so many used the N word in your social circle says a lot about those people you socialize with. Not about conservatives in general.
So I guess living in Metro Davidson county makes us all rednecks...I socialize with people that have degrees..so don't go there.

A degree means nothing.

My circle of friends is all over the board and I have heard no such thing come out of the mouths of conservatives. I love how you skipped over the issue at hand, meaning your absurd statement about 99% of conservatives being racists though.:good!:

the fact they felt comfortable saying the N word tells you all you need to know about your social circle. in 90% of this country people would be too terrified to say something like that even if they believed it.

99% of white conservatives do not like Obama because he is black.Behind closed doors the N word is being used at a constant rate.
I was involved in a social gathering over the weekend which consisted of nothing but white people...and the entire time all I heard was N this and N that.I really believe the whole basis of the Obama hate is race...pure and simple.
I would love to be a fly on the wall at a social gathering hosted by Obama's pastor and mentor, Jeremiah Wright. See how often the term Caucasion-American is used.

Obama is as racist as any redneck who ever lived. He just doesn't like White people. Twenty years of membership in Wright's church proves that point.

omg, this is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. personally i woulda liked to have seen J.C. Watts go up agains Obama, so you can take your statement and shove it. True there are some but 99% is way off, however how many black libs are racists toward white ppl? i'd say it evens out. ridiculous statement

Ridiculous......give me a time in the history of the US that whites were ever denied entrance into a restaurant, bathroom, military, etc.....

Also

24% of those who voted said race was a factor. 59% of that 24% were white and voted for McCain, so while his number isn't anywhere close, there is still way too much hate in this country over race.

Feel free to research the early years of Irish and Italian immigrants in America.

REALITY vs DREAM

BTW, the Italians, the Jews, the Poles, and the list goes on suffered discrimination that was to the point of inhumane.

Please, for the last damn time, don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say a dam thing about it being ok for blacks to be racists. YOu might know the stock market better than me, but as far as everything else goes, you are lost. YOu live in a bubble, plain and simple. I am 45 years old and I have witnessed it first hand. Prejudice against blacks was extremely evident in the late sixties and early seventies, and into the eighties to a certain degree. It isn't even close. I have friends my age that had to go to different schools until they got to college.

Seriously? If you are 45, you would have graduated around 1981. I thought segregated schools went out in the 60s and early 70s.

How about some perspective here. Using these #'s, 24% of voters used race as one factor in their decision - 41% of Obama voters and 59% of McCain voters.

Does this tell us anything about racism? No. Saying race was a factor doesn't mean someone is racist. It means it was considered.

Racism exists of course but of the 24%, some fraction is racist and some fraction is race aware in making decisions whether that means the considered race and still voted for Obama or considered it and voted against it.

Above all, the statement that 99% of conservatives are racist is patently false and the most extreme statement in this thread.

I misspoke. I have friends ten years older than me that didn't go to a desegregated school until high school. I actually went to the first desegregated kindergarten in Tennessee in 1969. I had just moved here from Massachusetts and it was such culture shock to witness such hatred for blacks. I had lived on an Air Force base until then so I didn't know the hatred was so acute.

When I was 14 or 15, a black family had made an offer on a house in our neighborhood. A petition went door-to-door immediately to keep them from moving there. I remember my father refusing to sign it. It was funny. I also remember my father sponsoring a black family for membership in our country club in the mid 1980s. The number of hate calls my father received from members was unbelievable. People stating our family would be blacklisted...it was so gratifying when the family got in and the father and son joined our foursome. It was also funny when the club built nine more holes and assessed the membership, many of the crew badmouthing my father had to get out because they couldn't afford the $5000.

I could go on and on

Do a little research. You will see real quick who is ignorant.

You have absolutely no clue about even basic American History.

I took a full year of it over twenty years ago in college. Made As in all three quarters(yes, we had quarters back then). I realize other ethnic groups have been discriminated against, but not like the extended period against the blacks.
