Nobody Wants The Miami AD Job

Didnt Auburn make a hard run at this guy before settling for Harsin?
I don't think Auburn had a clue what they were doing after they fired Gus. They did make a run at Cristobal and Napier, but I think some of their big check writers (Rane and Harbert) actually wanted Steele. Bill Clark (UAB coach) was also named.

Coach O was a Miami man back in the day. I think he would be perfect! He can communicate with the Cuban culture.

'The Rock' played at the U. He would also be a good pick

Coach O and The Rock....co-AD's.

I mean I understand why they fired Gus, but their whole search was just a complete crap show. It's like they learned bad things from watching UT go through all those searches.

Pay obscene buyout-check
Not have "the guy" already in back pocket before firing-check
Get publicly turned down by multiple coaches-check
Finally settle on your fifth or sixth coach on your list and claim he was always the top target -check
Repeat the whole process in a few years

I really should have been an AD.

I know! I was shocked to find out they have buy outs. Like a million bucks a year to shmooze a dumb segment if the rich is somehow not enough? Holy cow.

Auburn rivals Tennessee in administrative incompetence. They are not quite as dysfunctional, but close. It's amazing they have been as successful as they have been over the last 10-15 years, especially when you consider Saban is their in-state rival.
