Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2023-24

The problem with Dara and i have seen her play many of times on TV at VT she can`t create her own shot ?.

I would say that is true, she can hit the deep ball though. Like her sister she is creative passer and creates a lot of easy shots for the post players.

Mercedes survived her first year and was given a chance to improve. Jaime was not. There's always the chance she gets a training camp invite somewhere, but the ship my have sailed on Jaime's WNBA dreams
She was brought back by LV last season and sat the bench the second half of the season... they bought out her overseas contract to have her after the injuries to the Aces squad. So who knows. They still own her rights as far as I’m aware.

They signed Jaime to two 7-day contracts. She is not on their roster. Maybe they invite her to training camp, but right now she is not in the WNBA.

it has run it course, now it is nothing more than a potential battleground

Oh sorry I brought up another thing which even you may be interested in over there in that thread.

NOT trying to start anything but it’s intriguing what Mitchell might do with all those players on the perimeter. Someone’s minutes are going to be impacted for sure

We lost Natalie Chou (transferred) of Plano West to UCLA and gained Jaden Owens (transferred) of Plano West from UCLA. I think we got the better end of the trade.

Definitely thought she’d go somewhere more elite... View attachment 273068

More elite? According to Massey, Florida Gulf Coast finished the 2019/2020 season ranked #29.

Even though the school is not in the P5, that still makes them better than a majority of the SEC teams, including #36 LSU, #38 Tennessee, #45 Alabama, #46 Georgia, #91 Florida, #100 Vanderbilt, #106 Auburn, #128 Missouri, and #260 Mississippi.

16th on Hoopgurlz....2 top 20 players first week on the job. Must be nice.
It's amazing how quick she's getting it done on the recruiting trail. Vic, I understand. He's probably been in these players' ears all year, but Ivey was out of the college game for a year and has picked right back up as if she never left. Impressive!

same thing happened here,,,and then they realize it is still about coaches
we had to figure that out too
But I think we got one now

I would say Muffet had these players wrapped up a while back and was just waiting for the handoff to occur.

Exactly right. There was a lot of work put in with these recruits and their families. Clearly they had to be comfortable with Niele as Muffet's successor which of course they are. They already knew Niele.
