Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2023-24

Tennessee State (0-20) plays Morehead State this afternoon on ESPN+. They're trying to avoid going winless this season and have only two games (both on the road) left. It doesn't look good for the Lady Tigers.
I respect them for continuing to play when they could've stopped because of covid and avoided all those losses.

They're going to be a pain in the rear for the next 4 years...

My hope, is that so are we.

With the noise we’ve made this year so far I think we will get a solid transfer or 2 who come in and contribute right away.

I also feel we’ll get a couple of those top players who see the progression in the last two years from where we were, and that should get some of them to want to help get us over the top.

With the coaching and improvement in coaching from our staff from game to game and year to year, I have no doubt we’ll be more than fine to do battle.

UConn will go on an absolute tear starting next year. SC is bringing in the only class that might keep pace. Geno can still coach.
You could definitely add Stanford to that as they have the number one player coming in the next class after this one and most of their five stars on the team now will be seniors. Next season your right looks like a two way battle although we know it never seems to work out that way.

Ole Miss having a hard time getting the ball in the hoop or they would be right in it with SC. Pretty good D in the first half. Cooke had 14 but pretty inefficient as usual. 16 shot attempts in that first half. Nobody else getting it done for the Gamecocks today though so she had to shoot that much so far.

Going to try to catch the full second half here on my lunch. Just caught bits and pieces of the first half.

Well SC came out firing from 3 in the second half. Looks like this one is all but over.

Ole Miss absolutely improved this season. They could break into the top half of the SEC next season if they improve their guard play.

So far Ole Miss has held the SC interior players to 8 boards and 8 point combined. 4/4 each for Boston and Saxton. Running a good defensive scheme with Austin and Kitchens. Whomever is back first gets Boston. Switch back and forth keeping them both fresh making her fight for position.

The media sycophants?

Absolutely.

They already “can’t even” with Bueckers alone. Once Fudd is there we will never hear the end of it. Sad because I truly don’t believe UCONN has a clutch on the game like the used to. Other programs have caught up. I know everyone thinks they’ll be unbeatable the next couple years but I’m not sold. Believe it when I see it.

Ole Miss worst loss this season has been by 16 points. Spread was 25.5, I thought way too high before the game. Maybe not, Ole Miss down 19 after 3, barely shooting 20% overall.
