Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

If they can play together, they are as good as anyone in the country. Losing Tamari early in the season hurt this team, but there is a lot of fire power on this team and on any given night they can win.

I agree. These next two home games are HUGE. This team has the tools to play physical and with a lot of firepower! I hope either Striplin, Puckett, or Pissott can find their rhythm on Sunday. You can never have too many weapons!

No only against smaller weaker opponents . You saw what happened against SC clearly.

She's literally 2nd in the country in rebounds per page at 15.5. Look at her rebounding against SEC teams this year below. I don't care who you are or who you are playing, that is legit eye popping!!! You can't tell me that isn't being tough on the glass. I'd hate to see someone's stats who is tough LOL! SC has the best post play in the country so give her a pass there, and anyone is going to struggle to rebound or score against their bigs.

Arkansas - 16 boards
Vandy - 17 boards
Texas A&M - 28 boards
Kentucky - 13 boards
Mizzou - 12 boards
Auburn - 15 boards
Arkansas - 19 boards
Bama - 14 boards
Tennessee - 17 boards
Georgia - 14 boards
Texas A&M - 22 boards
South Carolina - 4 boards
Ole Miss - 20 boards

She can. Just not allowed to under Mulkey. Girl has a nice handle, snatch and grabs to start the break better than anyone at the moment.

Really not a fan but you can’t deny her passion, motor and play. She had a rough one against South Carolina but otherwise she’s been a beast. Gotta respect it.

36 and 20 last night. I don’t care if you’re playing by yourself in the driveway. That’s a feat.
I’d compare her more to Sylvia Fowles in that she dominates in the low-post. Candace was/is a Point-Forward. I haven’t seen a player like her since her.

Still rent free.
The three players on the bench never score, so why would they put them in a game that they were trailing most of the time. I sure wish they could go in, but a tired good player is better than a rested player that can not contribute. I don't think any other coach would do any different.

Playing devil’s advocate here. They are high school all-Americans that are not getting the chance. Maybe those tired players would not be so tired if those players spelled them a minute or two at least thus helping their development for the long haul and future. Pretty simple concept. Not a very novel idea. If your players are gassed and can no longer contribute you better play the available bench players and develop them. You’re already making the tournament but what happens if god forbid you lose another 1, 2, 3 players to injury or illness? Do you just forfeit the season?

Arizona takes down #4 Utah...
Wonder how far Utah drops…..I never believed they were a top 4 team to begin with. Have watched them 4-5 times this year, they fit in the 8-12 range imo. They will likely still be a 2 seed unless they trip badly the rest of the way, but if I were a higher OR lower seeded team I would love for them to be the 2 seed in my bracket, very beatable.

Same for Duke, they might get a 2 seed…..but that wont scare anyone in their bracket.

What's wrong with our guys. They'll beat top teams & loose to weak teams. Half time Kentucky is leading by 39 to 19 wow

Nova is a decent team, not a #14 team in the country but they are ok, I’d place them around 20-25 based upon their resume. Cannot see them beating a depleted Uconn even on their home court today, they have two good players.

They are o‘fer against ranked teams….One of those teams that has a pretty record without ever beating anyone of significance.
